I noticed a guy on the North Terrace with the previously mentioned Union Jack and NI Flag combined into one. I don't think most people cared.
My sister in law who is an Ulster Fan and in that general demographic to boot was livid and was going to confront him over it but thought better of it in the end.
With regard to the Northern Ireland flag, most people down here thought that was the actual Ulster Flag, my wife looked was asking me before the game what the yellow flag was about and as did another person beside me >TC

Great thread. But you are going to get d**kheads where ever you go. Munster have a good few alright, bandwagoners for the most part. The average munster fan however is decent and very respectful and take pride in that. I'm sure ulster have a few I just haven't met any yet, you come down to the RDS in such small numbers. To be honest, the most you should fear from a aggressive leinster fan is a tax audit.

My first trip to Thomond and I thought the Munster fans were great. There were quite a few good luck comments after the game and the only angry comment I heard was about the refereeing and a spear tackle.

I was in the South Stand and the atmosphere was brilliant. I did hear the 'go back to your leaky caravan' chant which was from a select few.

I think unfortunately there will always be some idiots at big games and they are not confined to Munster fans. The gracious way they accepted defeat and their tolerance of some of the supporters with the union jack flag raised my appreciation of them.

It was a great day out, very professionally organised at a great stadium.

I was at the last Munster - Northampton game in Feb. I was wearing an Ulster jersey at the game. I got a bit of light hearted grief about it but then one lad was saying I was very brave to be wearing it around here (in MK  ) , not sure if he was serious or not,I shrugged it off and he didn't hang around to explain himself further.

But later when asked where in Ulster I was from I said I was actually from Leinster, that's when they got a bit more venomous. I find all that strange since I know for many of my age group (late 20's early 30's) growing up in the Meath/Louth area provincial rugby might as well have not existed. I wonder could the same be said for them too? Even today I'm not bothered, I support any of the 4P's.

I can understand the mindset. Their is a venimous attidtude to Leinster which is sad but understandable. Munster and all their glory glory Munster tripe, we are different from everyone else is such a load of balls that opposition supporters love to rub their noses in it.

It's a reference to Munster people all being travellers. Not too nice but then again not something to go to war over either.

Indeed. A lot of Irish people don't know much about flags. Not a bad thing in a sense.

I've even had cause to explain how we are, or were to be accurate as it's now just for NI, represented on the current UK Flag. Most people did not have a notion that St. Pat's Cross was in there. Indeed the majority looked at me blankly when I said "Cross of St. Patrick".

The Leinster thing is more to with the D4 Ross O'Carroll Kelly type idiots that follow Leinster and the abuse being doled out at the RDS from Leinster fans.

Good on you.

Certain persons like to whip up disquiet between different groups to ensure the ordinary Joe Soaps of every nation are disunited. It is a centuries old conspiracy by the haves to keep the have-nots in their place. If you can create nonsensical nationalism, provincialism and regionalism to the extent that the plebs all "hate" each other or at least don't trust each other you are in control of them.

It's amazing how easy it is to control people. You see this with the media and their ability to turn an election in one party's favour, or in terms of drumming up support for illegal occupations in the middle east etc.

Here endeth today's lesson on control. Now if I had written that in a national newspaper and assigned my real name to it some of you would believe it. Some of the more wide-eyed already know full well the truth of it.

No matter how good you get and how far we fall. Munster fans will always hate us the most. It's beaten into them at home and school. "Cork should be the capital", or the other one, "Irish by birth, Munster by...." y'know the one. Good god. A boulder on each shoulder, terrible inferiority complex. It galls them that we are top dogs now and it also galls them that Ulster and Leinster have been close over the years with the last stand game and the first game in the new Aviva and so on.
Jackie Brown... i bet you're regretting your MF ban now, bide your time man, bide your time.

Bullshit Ladyboy, nothing is beaten into us, we don;t hate Leinster, we don't hate Ulster end off. Munster are in transition, Ulster are emerging , Leinster are on top good luck to all Irish teams.
You really are a bitter and twisted little man to take offence at slogans such as "Munster by the grace of god" or Cork being the "real" capital. Its all a bit of fun and tongue in cheek stuff.
I will be at the final with 2 freinds from Leinster , i hope its an all irish affair, i dont care who wins as long as its a good showcase for Irish rugby and it should be a great weekend
