Flags for Twickenham ?

Post by Lanzaman »

Or more importantly, flagpoles !

Having read some great tips on here from the masters of the flexible / portable / conduit flagpoles, I was just wondering if the airlines (esp. Ryanair) allow these to be carried on, or are they classed as offensive weapons (regardless of what is written on the actual flag!) ?

I've googled B&Q in Twickenham area, but it's about 5 miles away, however there seems to be a few hardware shops on Heath Road, a 10 minute dander from the train station.

I await some flagpole advice

Muchas gracias :salut:

What would an Ulsterman know about a fleg pole !!!!! Whatever the case we will now be exercising our right to occupy Rugby HQ :oman: maybe we should also paint the kerbstones around Twickenham as well.

Lanzaman, I'm flying to london tonight, and will be attempting to smuggle back one of the ulster branch flags from yesterday - ill let you know if the chinless wonders at security let it slide, or decide that the world would be a safer place if there was no chance taken at all of me breaking my way into the cockpit with a 3 ft piece of plastic tubing!

Successfully took two of the flags onto the Ryanair flight back to Stansted this morning - weren't mentioned by the ground staff.

Not going to Twickenham but thinking about ordering a custom flag, can anyone recommend any sites? I've tried a couple but most are around £50 from what I've seen so far.

I managed to get my 5x3 feet flags on poles onto the flybe and bmi flight back from the leicester match, no one said anything. Think I got lucky though, just chanced my arm.

Sometimes you have to think outside the box.

Er, bring your "flagpole" with you from home.

Saw someone get on an Aer Lingus flight from DUB with the UR flag & pole attached to his backpack - didn't seem to have any problems from the ground staff.

Ordering a flag, but not going to Twickers?
