Great game that. Enjoyed the England subs celebrating on the pitch
Re: 2024 U20's
Very entertaining game, neutral comms on BBC.....
So Ireland will probably hammer the Scots who are rubbish and England will need a BP win in France to win the Championship.

Re: 2024 U20's
I switched off when Ireland knocked on in injury time, assuming that they had lost and it wasn’t until about ten mins later scrolling through Twitter that k realised he went back for the pen!
Tbh I was expecting an England win, but the scrum held up surprisingly well, and our skills and attacking play was miles better. We left points out there as well, Ben O’Connor is a good athlete but needs a lot of work as a footballer IMO, you have to say he’s butchered another try there (as well as against France). And Gavin, who has been excellent, had a poor evening, with what was it 3 consecutive handling errors to hand the initiative back to England not long after half time..
But still a cracking match and a few quality tries

..one more thing
Re: 2024 U20's
O’Connor played a lot of hurling (u-17 and u-20 with Cork) so only really in his first season of fully committing to rugby. In space some of his decision making isn’t quite sharp enough yet. The best players routinely make the right decision on the timing and choice of making a pass, drawing in the defender, choosing the right option. O’Connor still struggles a bit with this. Think he potentially has a high ceiling though and hope he gets there.Columbo wrote: ↑Fri Mar 08, 2024 11:02 pm I switched off when Ireland knocked on in injury time, assuming that they had lost and it wasn’t until about ten mins later scrolling through Twitter that k realised he went back for the pen!

The BBC comms need to go back to school re their maths. At 32-25 they were wrongly giving England the title a week earlier.
Re: 2024 U20's
They’ve doubled down on that online.
Can’t find the tournament rules - could be a head to head element or something?

Plucky defeat for Ireland. Must be a few that might head north hungry for more of the same.
I have my own tv channel, what have you got?
Re: 2024 U20's
No it is points difference, then tries scored. They were wrong and are just burying their heads in the sand.
England +59 v Ireland +41 PD, Ireland 18 tries v England 17.
Ireland Scotland 7pm next Friday and France England at 8pm. Should be a cricket score in Cork, England will need all 5 points in France.

Ireland will be relieved with the draw given that England scored with 3mins to go. Realistically Ireland could have won. Big talking point about scrum before game. England totally illegal in first scrum and Boyd and Co dealt with it thereafter. Boyd son two scrum penalties that led to two trys for Ireland. England away to France Ireland home to Scotland now.

They seemed to have England on 16 points after 3 games and one ahead of ireland in the table and still have them 1 point ahead after the game. Not sure how this is possible??Neill_M wrote:No it is points difference, then tries scored. They were wrong and are just burying their heads in the sand.

They hired the bored interm to update the table.

Re: 2024 U20's
For a long while after the second round of matches, Aunty Beeb had Ireland top of the table with 10 points and England second on 9.
I think it was almost match day 3 before they realised that England had 2 bonus points and Ireland only 1, and changed the table.
Very poor. Not unlike their commentary tonight.

I'm not arguing -
