Will Addison sustained a hamstring strain in the warm-up for Saturday's BKT URC game against Connacht. He will have an MRI scan to further assess this injury.

During the same game, Reuben Crothers, James Hume and James French all suffered concussive injuries. They will now follow the World Rugby Graduated Return to Play protocols.

Following recent injuries, the following players have all now re-integrated into squad training and their availability for selection will be monitored through this week:

Robert Baloucoune, John Cooney, Angus Curtis, David Ewers, Cormac Izuchukwu, Luke Marshall, Jude Postlethwaite, Jacob Stockdale and Kieran Treadwell.

Iain Henderson, Rob Herring and Stuart McCloskey have today re-joined the squad from recent Rugby World Cup duty and are available for selection.
This is largely good news, hope Addison is lower grade but MRI doesn't bode well

3 players from the same team in a single game getting concussed. Is this the new norm?

Can't be good for the future of the sport, although at least now concussions are being recognised and treated versus back in the day, "suck it up big lad and get stuck back in," attitudes.

Of the three Crothers seemed the most serious , Hume seemed to be on the of either a forearm smash or knee in the face going down low to tackle — and while he lay awhile his removal may have been cautionary , and French was due to be subbed

But time will tell how serious each was

Ok, found it. 10th Jan ruled out for the rest of the season. Letting TMA go really was a criminal act!

The Ulster Rugby Medical Performance team has issued a squad update ahead of Friday's BKT United Rugby Championship Round 5 fixture against Emirates Lions.
Ethan McIlroy sustained a concussion and facial fracture during Friday's BKT United Rugby Championship Round 4 fixture against Munster.

He was treated at the Royal Victoria Hospital Emergency Department and was discharged home on Friday evening.

The Ulster Rugby Medical team would like to thank their colleagues in the RVH for the excellent care and attention they afforded to Ethan, following his injury.

Squad updates in association with The Ulster Independent Clinic.
