Another poor game. Ifeland have yet to impress this Six Nations. Sexton is completely done. Cronin proved why hes not a starter.

It’s not the sulk that is important so much as why . If Sexton came off feeling he should have played a better game then - he has every reason to be bitchy .because he failed to control the game and the play out side him — which if one is honest is never easy when Earls plays centre — his rush defence is highly suspect — hence the adoption of a drift defence , which failed to stop Italy before the gain line and resulted in Ireland defending in retreat .

A bonus point win without Ireland’s first chose second row and an ad hoc centre partnership I would think will satisfy Joe ,to some extent ,because he has a better idea of his strength depth and those things he must work on .

Joe’s major regret at this time must how D4 shot his chances at having a reasonable alternative to Sexton.
