Munster v Ulster

Well done again boys last night. Now what's the plan for the next few games. Personally I would rest a few of the boys for next weeks match. Where possible due to injuries and cover I would rest last nights starting front row, Henderson, Henry, Wilson, Pineaar, Jackson, Cave, Trimble and Payne. Where possible don't even have them on the bench so that they don't even have to make the trip. So a side something along the lines as follows

Black, Brady, Macklin, McComb, Simpson, McComish, Diack, Williams, Marshall, O'Connor, Cochrane, Allen, Marshall, Gilroy, D'Arcy.

You could rest more players but I think its important to keep some form of continuity in the side and not send out the signal that this game is a write off ie the "Ravens" v Leinster last year.

Big John definitely needs a rest. As does Rory. I think Paddy J has looked jaded in the last couple of games and a week off will help regenerate the batteries.Important to give Hendo a week off as well to stop him getting jaded. Don't forget these guys are very young and there's a big drain both physically and mentally.

Give them this week off and maybe even bench them against Scarlets. Bring them on for the last 30 mins in that match to warm them thru for the two big HC games.

Agree with above although I suspect it won't sit well with many on here. A lot of the lads need a breather.

I assume DK will insist on some of our players being rested. Probably rules out best, trimble and Henry. Other than that big John and Ruan could prob do with a rest but I'm not sure if sick note is going to be ready or if the cowboy trusts Macklin enough to rest big John.

I'd give Henry, Pienaar, Payne, Trimble, Cave and Best the week off and depending on Macklin or Deccy Fitz fitness Afoa will be rested

Team could be something like this:

1. Court
2. Herring
3. Macklin/Afoa
4. McComb
5. Hendo
6. Diack
7. McCommish
8. Williams

9. Marshall
10. Jackson
11. Gilroy
12. Wallace
13. Allen
14. Cochrane
15. D'Arcy

Was thinking the same thing - Big Bad needs at least a game off. Pinear as well. I would have said Jackson as well, but I think his confidence is shakey.

Given the amount of injuries we've shipped, I don't think we have the ability to rotate and send down a non-write off side.

And I don't think the IRFU are going to give us the choice of not rotating.

Thus needs to be managed properly

I would have Jackson and Pienaar next week

Then rest both of them for the Scarlets game

Court Herring Macklin

Henderson and McComb in the second row

Diack Wilson and McComish

Would be my pack

I would rest Trimble Cave and Payne

All depends on how we think the Scarlets will play the week after. Will they bring the full side, or will they play the full sides in these derbies and rest for the week before the HEC

The Scarlets are out of the HEC; they're very much still in the reckoning for the Rabo!

Anscombe mentioned in his post match interview that a number of the guys are due a rest next week.

I imagine it will almost certainly be International contingent.

I wouldn't like to tell a 20 year old Hendo he needs a rest ... probably wasn't too long ago when he played a match for the school then played another for the club in the afternoon! The guy is going to be a legend let him get as much experience as he can.

I'd rest:
court, afoa, best, mccomb, hendo, wilson, henry, williams, diack, ruan, PJ, Luke, PW, cave, trimble, gilroy and Payne.

We've had 3 massive games, and we'll have another 3 massive games after the Munster game. Away to Munster is not a game you'd target pre-season. Who cares. Take the loss, use llanelli to warm up for glasgow and extend our lead at the top then rock and roll on the HEC. A 2 weeks rest would do the squad the world of good.

You watching the westies v the turnips at the minute - looks like Munster are resting everyone - including those on the pitch.

Westies unlucky with another harsh yellow and a penalty try against them - they look the better side.

As someone who actually thought we'd get beaten last night, I will say my bit - then leave the decision to Maaak and support him, you're probably right LK - and I also feel that when we have to send the Ravens these days we're not sending filled shirts to keep the score down - some other players need game time and if it suits our cause let it happen.

I also say you're right beating the Scarlets is a bigger game in the Pro12 as it's worth at least 8 maybe 10 points if we win well. Plus there is no dodging the fact that a BP win against Glasgow has to be what we're playing for.
