Some may disagree but I would always have Robbie Diack in the team if his was fit.

I've had many views and reviews of Robbie over the years - when he's on form he's good - some line out work last year was imperious ... alas I still can never look at such a big fecking unit of a man and think if he belonged to Nigel Tufnel, he would have wheeled out this huge Marshall stack, plugged his Les Paul into it and said ... "this Amp goes all the way up to 3."

Really surprised at the omission of Olding who more than put up his hand at the end of last year and looked good on the Summer tour. Maybe there is a slight knock there, as I can't see any real reason to have Allen in before him.Good that Nick is back, interesting to see if all this talk of the need for a controlled 8 outweighs the need for a mad Maori mashing a few heads

Would be astonished if this omission wasn't based on fitness. It's the provisional squad like.

Maybe Nick will be able to control at 8, I really hope so. But it's a bit of an unknown, and I think it will be a crucial part of the game this season.

btw: IIRC he was never a maori.

Good point Yin :salut: We'll expect him on the bench then to cover any inadequacies apparent in Marshall Marshalls game so.
NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.
