Fair enough Cap'n - and I'm not going to fall out with anyone over this or any other views anyone has. As Goodaine quite rightly says, we all have our own differing views and are each entitled to express them. TBH I didn’t need to bring his parentage up, that was out of frustration and revulsion at the incredulous decision reached by the ERC.
As for the stars word, its not my choice of word either but on the day was probably heart felt by all those who used it. Tevez is clearly a much more controlled individual than I am. Good luck to him too.
I have looked inwardly over the last 10-12 days and haven’t always liked what I have seen. Why did I make comments about Brennans bar - probably carried along in the craic. I'm 47 for dear sake and I get carried along
Sad really I guess. Why did I shout after Brennan when he skulked back to the dugout. Pure anger even close to hatred I guess. But no matter what I said, felt or thought, nothing can undermine the actions of Brennan and Thomas, or the attempted actions of Thomas. As the custodians of the game and the supporters too, I feel that the ERC has badly let us down and that the message they have sent out via the handling of the Thomas decision is a very poor one and a poor indictment of them.
As I said, and you rightly reminded me of it, we need to all look at ourselves and start from there. But we equally need to see due process with proper process employed and I don’t believe that we have seen it yet. This makes me more concerned for the response awaiting us.

Toulouse will be happy with the 4 week ban. It means that he will only miss one club match.

The legend that is JJ Williams agrees that Alfie was indeed a very silly man and that he is now finished.....what a shame!!

why would it be a cop out? it seems our fans behaviour after the punch was less than ideal

Indeed after the punch. From what i hear it was both sets of fans and they were seriously provoked.

aarons - beside me there were folk from Bedford (you'll have seen their posts) and folks from the Vienne and folks from Toulouse and even a Welsh man. They all - every one of them swore, shouted, screeched and other things at Brennan for what he did. It was a reaction of decent people who had seen one of the worst events ever at a game of rugby.
For the morons in the Irish press, the others who have slated us for being bigoted and sectarian and the like they haven’t got a clue. And isn’t it interesting that most of those (many of them journalists) weren’t even bloody well there.
Any decent human being (and I consider you and me to be in that group) who saw what took place would react angrily to the whole episode. Yes, of course, those reactions would vary from one person to another as Tevez has shown, but they would react. The frustration felt by many many of the rugby folk (irrespective of nationality or club) was tangible man - really tangible.
To dump it on us as the ERC seems set to do is a COP OUT IMHO of course.
