McNabney must be ripping up trees in training to keep Izzy/Sheridan on the bench.

We don’t want them getting injured for the EI tour.

We are going for impetus off the bench.

Some good impact from the bench, not so confident on Shanahan or Humphreys though.

Mcnabney must be in good shape all the same. Big confidence booster for him.

I'd be more worried about Doak and Humphries than Shanners. Least the game'll speed up why may suit Morgan, who seems to play flat.

Good luck Corrie Barrett- that's a big call

Yes, it does look like impact off the bench, doesn't it. It's good sign that we've a squad that's deep and decent enough to go for an 'impact off the bench' option.

McLlroy at full back with Lowry on the wing has a better scoring potential than lowry at full back and McLlroy on the wing --- McLlroy has never convinced me he has attitude for wing.

Impact off the bench ? -- Humphreys when I watched him in the U20s, appeared to be more Ian than David ie effected more by the last mistake rather than thinking about the next play. Not sure about the impact of bench front row thus I think the impact from the bench maybe over valued being 3 out of 8 .

I might be in the minority, but I always thought we looked better with a second playmaker coming into the line from fullback, which is a role Lowry has always excelled at. Will wait and see what our coach has in mind though.

I'm not sure where I heard it from, but have been told that McNabney has been dominant in pre season. Hopefully he comes of age this season in the same way thar McCann did last year.

Not sure that was Lowry’s role at all.

He invariably (bravely) took the ball into contact as opposed to acting as a second playmaker.

He did, however, largely impress in his few appearances at 14 at the end of the season, coming off his wing looking for ball in the increasingly fashionable manner.

I don't want to put the scud on Barrett, but he could hold up a scrum, in the Treviso game. Appreciate a basic, but many 3rd/4th choice cannot do that.

Our tighthead props couldn’t hold a scrum up without giving away several penalties last season.

Mcnabney had a great debut away to Glasgow so will have no fear of playing them. He has all the attributes to be a good player, so fingers crossed for him. Up against a class backrow tonight.
