It's more comfortable to be mad and know it, than to be sane and have one's doubts.
Anyway, the only difference between me and a madman is I’m not mad….I think…

Dragons wait on Ulster verdict
Feb 25 2007
Simon Roberts, Wales on Sunday
DRAGONS will discover later this week if any action will be taken against Ulster after the racism row in Belfast.
The Welsh region have written to Ulster and the Glasgow-based Celtic Rugby Board about the incident at Ravenhill last Friday.
Dragons wing Aled Brew was allegedly a victim of racial abuse from the crowd during the game.
He complained to a touch judge he was being racially abused after only 20 minutes and at half-time during the Magners League clash.
Brew went on to score a try for the Welsh region but the incident is disturbing.

David Jordan, the Director of Celtic Rugby, revealed a ruling on the incident will be made before next weekend.
"The Dragons have written to us and Ulster about what happened," said Jordan.
"We are now waiting for Ulster to respond before we consider any action.
"These are serious allegations and they need to be investigated.
"Until Ulster carry out their own investigation we can not take any action. But we would like to have this whole issue resolved before the next round of matches in the Magners League, which is next weekend."
Gethin Jenkins, the Dragons' commercial manager, wrote to his Ulster counterparts earlier this week. "There should be no place for this kind of behaviour in rugby," he said.

Am I missing something here? I thought Ulster had already carried out an investigation (in terms of reviewing tapes, speaking to security etc. etc.) and were waiting on further details from the Dragons????
Think it's the Dragons who need to get their fingers out.

Unfortunately this is less newsworthy than the accusations, which were emblazoned across the media for a couple of days..Ulster have told Newport Gwent Dragons and Celtic Rugby that they have not found any evidence of racial abuse by fans at a league game at Ravenhill.
The Dragons had complained that one of their players felt he had been the victim of racial chants during the match against Ulster on 16 February.
Ulster said they had spoken to match officials, players, stewards, police and fans and viewed video footage.
They said they had not found anything to substantiate the Dragons' claims.
According to Ulster, their supporters do have chants which could be misheard.
They said they would increase their level of stewarding even though it was already well above the recommended level.
The Dragons said that, while standing by the claims of their player, they were satisfied by the Ulster response in the matter.
Celtic Rugby said the matter had been dealt with satisfactorily and was now closed.

The statement in full:
Following a letter from Newport Gwent Dragons to Ulster Rugby concerning perceived racial abuse made to one of their players, Ulster Rugby has now formally responded to the concerns raised by Newport Gwent Dragons.
In their response, Ulster Rugby has confirmed to both Newport Gwent Dragons and Celtic Rugby that they have thoroughly investigated this matter and have not been able to substantiate the claims made. Ulster Rugby acknowledges that there is no place whatsoever in our Game for racial abuse or abuse of any kind and have taken the allegations made very seriously. This has included reviewing all available television, video & CCTV footage; obtaining reports from the referee; conducting interviews with touch judges, event management staff & stewards, members of the Ulster Rugby Supporters Club, members of the Ulster match team and medical staff, and the Police Service NI Officer in charge of the venue. Ulster Rugby has reported that these enquiries have not been able to substantiate the claims made.
Ulster Rugby has explained that their supporters do have chants that could be misheard. Ulster Rugby also advises that their stewarding levels are well above those recommended by the Green Guide and have confirmed to the Dragons that they will be increasing their stewarding levels further and will continue to work closely with their Supporters Club to ensure that Ravenhill is a venue that is only intimidating in the extent that it has one of the most vociferous supports in professional club rugby.
Newport Gwent Dragons have acknowledged and thanked Ulster Rugby for the seriousness in which they have viewed this matter and the efforts that Ulster Rugby has gone to in investigating the claims made. Newport Gwent Dragons have confirmed that, while standing by the claim of their player, that they are satisfied with Ulster Rugby's response and that they now consider the matter closed.
As Newport Gwent Dragons has not made a formal approach to Celtic Rugby to intervene in this matter, and since Newport Gwent Dragons have confirmed to Celtic Rugby that they are satisfied with Ulster Rugby's reply, Celtic Rugby considers that the matter has been satisfactorily dealt with by the teams concerned.
Celtic Rugby takes very seriously any allegation of racial abuse and abhors any form of discrimination.
Celtic Rugby is grateful to both clubs for dealing with this issue in a professional manner and recognises the considerable effort that has been taken in investigating this matter.

What a load of horlix, we get called racists, Dragons believe their player but also believe Ulster investigated and are satisfied with the outcome.
Net result we still may be racists but Dragons don't give a brad pitt, because they caused a media hype that only ruined the name of Ulster fans and their player is squeeky clean and does not need a hearing test.
