You mean, qualified for the Paris Olympics by beating Great Britain....

Watched some of it, was at the European Games in Krakow.

So both the Ireland Men's and Women's sides have qualified for Paris, GB Women also. GB Men have one more chance at the final qualifying tournament next year.

 Never get all the England bashing... Hypocritical Xenophobia. Given a team that supported Ireland during the troubles, supported a world cup bid and regularly shoot themselves in the foot in the Heiny etc.. what's not to like?

Yeah the English were very supportive during the troubles. They used to give out lead to civilians but got nothing but flak!! I remember one Sunday in particular. Ungrateful bastids.
I have my own tv channel, what have you got?

Exactly what I meant! Never been a details sort of bloke.

By the way, baiting the English is a great pastime, alongside baiting the French, Welsh, Scots, Americans, Australians, Mexicans (the Irish ones), Turnips (again, the Irish ones) etc, in fact anyone towards whom we occasionally feel just a wee bit of (shhh, don't mention it) envy.

Tried, but can't follow the logic of the pool system! If we lose to NZ , I assume we still gave a shot at gold.

Ire are already qualified for the ko stage so yes. The prize against NZ is an easier qf.

Aha.
I think I've worked it out.
Three pools of four.
Top two in each group, plus the two best third placed teams go through to the quarter finals.
The others play for places 9 - 12.
The four who don't get through to the semis play for places 5 - 8
Semis are the same as other sports

They should have won it. The turnover on the NZ line was poor. Kennedy just needed a wee bit of calmness.
