Nice little story from Lady Dixon Park. Most days Mrs BM feeds a pair of grey back crows who follow her to the walled garden. Today they brought along 2 fledglings and proceeded to feed the scraps to them a few feet from our feet.

Excellent. Don’t think I ever saw any hooded crows at all in England. They don’t come to our garden though. Not enough room with all the magpies.

Lost a song thrush this morning. Unclear what caused it to snuff it.

We’ve had a youngish looking fox this week. Quickly curls one off and then legs it.

Hooded crows are only found in Ireland Scotland and IOM a few can be found in winter in NE England usually having moved south from Nordic countries England tends to have their cousins the Carrion crow. Both Hoodies and carrion crows are very hard on new born lambs and tend to disembowel them by attacking their anus, we have had this problem with them at lambing time >#

Only ever seen a jay once before back in England.

They're common enough here. They are the shyest of the crows though.

Spent a few minutes yesterday watching a White Tailed Eagle flying over our heads on a trip into Aberdeenshire, there was a time when the shooting estates were killing them all, but they seem to be leaving them alone now, awesome can often be an over used word, but just seeing one seems to make the day.

Great stuff.

Saw a couple of ospreys at an otherwise dreadful Miami tourist trap this year.

Both saved and made the day.

Saw loads of them on Puget Sound in Seattle. They're called Seahawks there hence the name of the NFL franchise. In Wales they're known as Shitehawks.
