The 'pro rata refund' goes no way at all to making up for the damage done. Think of the emotional damage done to all of us. Think of the money invested in clothing (which fashion guru in their right mind wears an outfit twice?). Think of the disruption of family life to all those wives who were lookig forward to an evening in front of the tele, gin and tonic in hand, in peaceful bliss. Think of the long term damage done to children who have had their 'informal social education' disrupted causing probably permanent damage as they can no longer trust social institutions, fathers etc. And the kids who were to play at half time - for many of them, their 'fifteen minutes of fame' gone for ever. Doesn't bear thinking about the ruined dreams and the emotional scars that will never heal. Think of the money lost by Translink either through lost fares directly or through the Stormont subsidy for all of us senior citizens (bless them, the only good thing Stormont has ever done). Think of the money lost by the food vendors in Ravenspan. Think of the shopping many of us had to do when we should have been sitting/ standing in Ravenspan.

Too emotional to write any more. Someone must know a good solicitor, barrister, QC.

There must be a 'tell all' documentary in this. anyone any contacts?

There are not many posts on here that get me laughing out loud! Many thanks
And seriously some of the people affected by this UR management incompetence and lack of foresight and contingency plann By……….I had not brought to the front of my mind.
Thank you

Oh boy!

Those would be the LED floodlights Cockers?

Let's leave that bit out of the investigation >EW

Afraid that would do nothing for frost. Except you would be able to see it.

As indicators of panic and derangement, this goes from bad to worse.

I think the clue is in the name........... "Low emitting........"

A defrost from lighting would have have counted as a full blown miracle! Sainthoods and moving St Petrie statues all round!

But there you go

Anyone know who UR are insured with for match income cancellations? They are going to have A good laugh at this horlicks.

Erm, I think you might find it’s “light emitting diode”.
If they were low emitting they wouldn’t be much use.

Ulster v La Rochelle - Saturday (Sunday?) Ravenhill (RDS?)

Post by Columbo »

Interesting that the EPCR investigation originally seemed to be reported - in the Belfast media at least - as a bit of a sit-down where Ulster could air their grievances etc.. When in fact it amounts to Ulster being dragged in front of a disciplinary hearing to be dragged over the coals..

This is all hearsay, but with that provisio I heard this week that: Ulster didn't have any covers etc down until Thursday (despite long-term forecasts showing extended period of sub-zero overnight temperatures from at least a week before...); they were given the chance on Wednesday by the organisers to push the game back until Sunday (the unused 3pm slot) - however because this was going to be Ulster's biggest game financially of the year, and they knew that pushing it back would impact their revenues, they turned that down ... On Friday I think the pitch was over 50% unplayable, and even on Sat there were still some frozen patches...

It's interesting that the southern media, including Thornley who is basically IRFU house journo, are pretty scathing of Ulster - sounds like the IRFU are pished off. If all of that is true, this review by the EPCR will likely be brutal, and won't make pretty reading for Petrie, who was out shooting his mouth on twitter (and getting patted on the back by lots of fans for 'fronting up' etc)..
..one more thing

It's interesting because Petrie claimed that it was their preference to move it to Sunday. I wonder will the investigation reveal that a certain someone is another twister of the truth.
I have my own tv channel, what have you got?

Summed it up well in the final paragraph. Why on earth is Petrie engaging with fans on social media? Nothing good will come of that!

Seems everyone but the person choosing that option knows that.

Pitch frozen with sub zero temperatures for days then floodlights turned on Wednesday evening pitch, then covered the following day when still frozen and to everyone’s surprise at Kingspan it’s still unplayable during refs inspection.

This incompetence should not be surprising to Ulster fans of any vintage.
