The one thing we can all agree on regarding the outcome is that there will be flak flying and our CEO will be nowhere to seen.

But then if it started today, who reviewed the text messages last Tuesday?

Who decided to include Gilroy?

The decision to make Gilroy ' unavailable' must have been taken by a committee without any Ulster input. Bryn wasn't part of it and Logan was on holiday.

He'll have his underpants on his head and two hb pencils up his nose saying, "Wibble"

After all, this is a 12 storey crisis with a magnificent entrance hall.

So the mass clearout may start well before the end of the season and include players whi are neither Daves nor well past their best. In fact in 2 of the cases at keast, players Ulster could definitely do with holding onto.
I feel if the wind was blowing that way, Paddy would not have released his statement last week.
Why would he release a second statement when he and his legal representative said their piece outside court?
Sponsor pressure, FFFS can you people not read?
 Why would he give a toss about sponsor pressure if he is being canned?
Where did I suggest he knows a thing about sponsor pressure?

Dead in the water, what will the 12510 people signing the petition do?
NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.

Now you've completely lost me.
My point is that Paddy would not have released a second statement due to sponsor pressure if he was being fired. The sponsors could go and whistle Dixie Paddy wouldn't give a damn about what they say or think if he's a gonner.

The only way that Paddy’s statement on Friday makes sense is if it part of a scheduled and agreed sequence of moves that ends with Paddy, Stu and Craig returning to playing status with Ulster and Ireland.
The statement on Friday was to placate sponsors and public opinion.

I'd say give it 6 months and you might see a different picture. Or perhaps the people could be asked further: should they play for ireland again after a ban served?

Remember, who is included in the poll... I would imagine only people in the ROI were asked so not representative of an all Ireland team. Or is it yet again, we're forgotten about? I remember years ago, there seemed to be an attitude in the south of " you northerners come down to play for us". I'm sure that's changed a bit, but how much?

Rooster wrote:End of the day I think the sponsors will decide if they stay or not, if the IRFU gets threats of a drop of several million then they will just pay the lads off and we will have one of those "mutual agreement" press releases. It's not just the Ulster sponsors but because Paddy is liable to play for Ireland it will be them as well, any morality clauses and it is all over.
I don’t think so - key thing is that this is now a disciplinary issue between employee and employer, so the most any sponsors can do is try to whisper in ears offstage. They absolutely can’t intervene directly (and I would imagine KRW’s efforts to date will encourage them to tread very carefully...) I imagine there will be a range of views among sponsors, as in the wider population - so even if theIRFU has had a few off the record calls, I don’t expect they would be universally anti- the players.

So the only decisive actors here are the IRFU on the one hand and the players (plus lawyers, importantly) on the other. IMO the IRFU has limited room for manoeuvre - it seems clear that the messages aren’t in themselves grounds to terminate a contract, so if the IRFU really wants them gone, the players have them over a barrel, and it will be very expensive. Does the IRFU really have the money lying around to spend a fortune in order to send 2 or more of their better players to play abroad? By the sound of it the players want to stay - so I’d expect the IRFU to be working on a PR strategy to try to land this all in the next week or so, probably involving further press conferences/statements from the players and UR.

It just feels like the story has reached the point where most people are thinking, ok enough’s enough.. the whole outrage express just became a bandwagon - when an internet mob is just openly trying to ruin 2 guys future and livelihoods, no matter how unpleasant their messages may have been, I think it reaches a point where it offends people’s sense of fairness
..one more thing

Are you serious?

It's usually in June.

I think there is clearly someone with an agenda stoking the fires in the South.

What were the terms of the survey? Who were the target audience / respondents and actually what the actual feck has it to do with any of them??

Jeez these windbags in the South are the moral spokespersons for us all now?

So feck tired of this, clear positioning to keep the pressure on the IRFU whilst the winds of change blow the other direction up here.

Season Ticket holders who renew within the loyalty period, before 30th April, will be automatically entered into a competition to win one of ten 2018/19 European Jerseys, while 100 supporters will have the chance to win a signed Tommy Bowe print.
Doesn't say if the discount period ends on 30 April or not, just an outside chance to win something. Tad ambiguous, but possibly shorter this season.

Think I'll take me chances and wait!
