The only game I will be supporting Scotland in is the one against the sheep shaggers. Would love the SS to finish bottom of the table. A wretched lot they are, although not quite as bad as the other SS. Gwan...
I hope Scotland and Wales finish first & second, unlikely though that is, Italy are a joke but hopefully will beat Ireland, France are slightly less of a joke & should be much better, I hate England above all teams in every sport. I was in Cardiff not long ago and met nothing but good rugby people and Scotland is the only country in the UK worth a half of a shyte, the rest being filled with savages.
G'wan Scotland.
NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.
Never worry Hairy forget the moonhowler. I think you've made a shrewd investment. Scotland will have more energy and more cutting edge in the backs and I say that without fear of contradiction despite not having seen their selection. Unless the Irish pack dominates they ae a beaten docket.
You remind me of a friend of mine who was a Lester Piggott fan. He never backed Piggott on the basis that if he won.he'd be happy and if he list Stephen had probably backed the winner.

I stated some time ago long term Olding if he wants to play International Rugby would be better off transferring to full back .
I am disappointed in Olding's progress as a centre he still attempts to run round his opposite number and his timing of his pass lacks the quality of Cave .
And he is unfortunately has a reputation of getting injured at the wrong time and for too long .

Within this carapace of skepticism there lives an optimist
I'd say Jackson is quite key. If he has a mare then I can see Scotland staying in the game. unsure how the new rules will impact things. Will it allow Scotland to play a more offloading game of the tackles are a bit lower? Discipline is likely to be key in all these games. A silly or unfortunate red and it's all over. Ireland's pack looks very capable. If they click they should overpower the Scots. One of the best ball carrying packs I have seen in a long time.
Climb up onto the top of your house and start screaming: 'stand up for the Ulstermen, stand.......'
The starting team for Ireland is the stronger but Scotland have the stronger bench. This and the referee could decide the game but Ireland are favourites.
From the rolling glens of Antrim through the hills of Donegal we will stand and shout for Ulster as we win both scrum and maul from the lovely lakes of Fermanagh tae the shores of ould Lough Gall we will scream and shout for Ulster as we beat them one and all!
I've never particularly liked the Scottish rugby side.
Possibly due to the fact that they had similar resources to us yet we rarely beat them in the late 80s and 90s.
That was annoying whereas we never really should have expected to beat other sides.
Just plain annoying losing to them almost like losing a local derby.
Good coaching has made a huge difference with them and all I feel now they are missing is belief after years of averageness.
Younger players don't tend to be burdened by failure as we found when Gatland introduced 5 new caps for us en mass when he was at the helm after a number of barren years.
With Glasgow they have a side that have tasted success and that core is driving their team as the great Munster and Leinster sides did for us.
The bad news for them is that those Irish provinces have been revitalised and are being harnessed by some of the best coaching staff in world rugby.
Hopefully that will send them back to the drawing board tae think again.
I should have known to be more specific; trouble is I'm lazy! What I meant in detail is that while we have the stronger pack the weakness is Bowe and Keatley on the bench and Earls playing for that matter. We have five wings on better form at the moment than Bowe or Earls. None of them are in the squad, which in my humble opinion was an error of judgement considering it was known Trimble was not fully fit and Bowe was making his way back from a long lay-off. I refer to Byrne, O'Laughlin, Healey, Adeolokun and Scannel.

Finlay Calder is responsible for a lot of my dislike of Scotland.
And all the losses in the 90s.
We had the better teams but always seemed to find a way to lose.
