Apologies today

Dry Jan and long pool sessions mean no boozing until next weekend

We've all done the long pull sessions, but not dry. That's going to hurt.

Hard to call IMHO. Enough quality in the Ulster side to score tries alright. Half-backs clearly a concern and back 3 will be interesting. If we can stay in the game then clearly there is talent on the bench to swing it. I expected us lose away to Toulouse and to beat Munster so I've no fekkin clue what will happen in this one. I suspect scrappy and close. So 35-10 then....

I feel nervous about this game today, I agree that this team should have started at home.

We'll see.

I'm with Russ. Going to stick the neck out and say we'll get the job done, probably with a squeaky 78th minute 4 th try.

No idea what the weather is like out there but basing my prediction on it being dry, even if a bit on the cold side.

Then again, i predicted defeat in both Toulouse games, so what do i know....

Anyway. Time for me to take that tighten up syrup :red:

Dry cold a little altitude probably no wind and a plastic pitch

Perfect conditions

If Oyonnax are indifferent about this game, Paul Marshall could have a field day causing havoc around the fringes.

Sorry for your wee dog WW >ESAD , I share your concerns for today.

Just look at this:

15. Craig Gilroy
14. Sam Arnold
13. Luke Marshall
12. Stuart McCloskey
11. Rory Scholes
10. Ian Humphreys
9. Paul Marshall

Somebody tell me where there is a vague hint of nous & leadership there?

About once in 20 games iHumph might play a blinder, more often he will be shocking. The guy who you could happily have played in Europe pre-2012 is gone, age has not been kind.

Wee-p has not been too bad this year, but he can concede an own-try as quickly as any man alive.

Gilroy not too bad at 15, much better on the wing. Wee Shammuel Arnold, we have no right to expect anything from him.

Sarries struggled in both games to get a lead before mangling them, they had to scrap furiously to get ahead:

1. Kyle McCall
2. Rory Best
3. Ricky Lutton
4. Lewis Stevenson
5. Franco Van Der Merwe
6. Robbie Diack
7. Chris Henry
8. Roger Wilson

Does that look like a pack to subdue a team who will want to win at home. Some said Stade wouldn't be bothered either, how did that work out for Munster? Front row will probably to ok, Big Lew? Roger? Chad not on form?

There may be trouble ahead .............
NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.

The weather is not that good either; changed yesterday.
From the rolling glens of Antrim through the hills of Donegal we will stand and shout for Ulster as we win both scrum and maul from the lovely lakes of Fermanagh tae the shores of ould Lough Gall we will scream and shout for Ulster as we beat them one and all!

Lot of logic in there Baggy. I also thought aboutthe leadership point as composure will be key today, in terms of keeping cool heads if we go behind and taking the right options when we have chances.mwe need to build a lead to take the wind out of their sails but also not pass up good try scoring positions so that we keave ourselves with too much to do.

Then again, you could argue where was the keadership in the backline last weekend.

Ditto on the pack, albeit that backrow is better than the one which went toe to toe with Toulouse in the away game. Henry needs a big game and hopefully today is the day. Most concerned about Wilson in the back row as he is looking more and more like age has caught up with him on the pitch.

One thing we CANNOT do is mess up on the kick off, as we cannot afford to give them any additional early momentum.

This is also the kind of game where France VdM needs to show his leadership.

Embarrassing,shambolic first half.
