baggy… agree wholeheartedly but just like it seems people are pressurised into wearing them on TV I wonder if either Ulster operate under direction or feel pressured from the IRFU.

Believe there is a directive from the TV companies that if you want to appear on TV you wear a poppy, which is why the outrage over seliba miller.

Conversely, BoDPR wouldn't want to give up the lucrative endorsements and TV appearances, nor harm his image so much that a little club in Antrim wouldn't pay him £26k for 3 hours work and wouldn't meet the minis on a training field

IMO the poppy is in danger of becoming a farce. The poppy is turning into a fashion statement, with everyone competing with everyone else to see who can out-poppy who.

Wear one or don't. This whole business of monitoring who does or who doesn't is pretty disrespectful and this modern business of putting it on shirts is tacky.

In fact, I would go so far as to say, I would prefer an individual to make a conscious decision NOT to wear a poppy than to wear one because everyone else is.

Much more sense being spoken here than on that Bakebook page. Still, lots of folk over there, even a frustrated me, were pointing out the contradiction between forcing, or strongly urging, people to wear poppies in honour of those heroes who fought and died so that we could make up our own minds about such things.

Like Baggy, I've been disgusted by Bakebook "friends" liking and sharing the vicious, fascist bile emanating from Britain First. I have spent the last week pointing out to these friends, giving them the benefit of the doubt that they are ignorant of BF's real face, that I rather think they shouldn't be doing this. From today, I will follow Baggy's example and show them the door. Regrettably most of these are Ulster rugby friends but there you go.

Now, rugby. Game was better than I hoped and so I'm happy. p had an excellent match, but I was still happier when the Blessed One came on. Nelson, Jackson, and Henry impressed and I was delighted by McCall. Mulholland had to be taken off as I think he'd loss confidence at the back of the scrum, but overall didn't look out of place. Darren Cave was excellent and I hope Kiss starts pestering the life out of Herr Schmidt about who is Ireland's best 13

The whole thing is a bit of an indictment on a society that sends young men and women of to be killed and maimed(increasingly for political rather than moral reasons) and then expects them to rely on charity for their welfare. Doesn't happen in Israel.

Either keep 5 Saffers on the pitch and aspire to mid table mediocrity or pack the team full of locals and fight it out with Zebre.

I don't get the optimism boys, sorry - shoot me down - but - that was the feckin Dragons - not a European power house ... we are being left behind. Our kids are either not being coached, developed, stimulated or have enough talent, poor Glocks had ideas but big schools want to win the Schools cup and feck what comes after that, the good kids are being ruined or sickened.

Debutants are not hitting the ground running - I agree with Snipe poor Mullholland was probably subbed as he had lost confidence - when Chris went to 8 the difference in control was too big to be funny ... the guy might be a good prospect but he's coming on cold to a mid table dirge fest in a very weak league ... and he doesn't seem to have had a pit lane to get used to the speed increase ... wait till the bigger NH clubs strangle us ... and then when we're thoroughly depressed about SID ....

Take a wee look at the SH teams next year - all their stars have retired or moved to France - wait till you see the feckin skills and talent of the 20 somethings coming through in South Africa, New Zealand and Australia ... then get back to me, and ask why we need 5 Saffers on the pitch to stay mid table.
