Re: Charlie Hebdo
I think there is a big difference between Je suis Charlie and Nous sommes Charlie. (I'm talking philosophical rather than grammatical)
I'm a big believer in freedom of speech (and its bed fellow - self-censorship).

I'm more or less 100% correct and accurate me self Shan, but then you know that. You can expect that from my every post and utterance. It's good to know there are some absolutes in life.......Shan wrote:No. I don't expect anybody to be 100% so I don't criticise folk when they are not. But that does not mean I cannot comment on ways I think someone could improve.
ps. try not to start a sentence with but........

I know, I wasn't using ellipses, I just like ending my posts with a random row of dots.............It's not as if i have left anything unsaid.......BR wrote:Ellipses have 3 dots; not some random number.Snipe Watson wrote:I'm more or less 100% correct and accurate me self Shan, but then you know that. There is nothing wrong with starting a sentence with the word "but". But then you probably know that, or is that the piece you are less rather than more 100% correct and accurate?
Of course one could improve the perception of one's prose and utilise the slightly more fancy but ultimately close to identical "however". Though I won't be doing that.

Yes. It is called Satan's Sentinel. A wonderful publication. It is renowned for its fiery style and near breathless humour.

The newsagent may have ordered the mag but that doesn't mean they'll get it... There's a French bookshop in London and they stock Charlie Hebdo every week and even they say they don't know how many, if any, copies they'll get this week such is the demand in France.
Re: Charlie Hebdo
EBay auctions for this weeks edition going for near 100k. I sincerely hope some bidders are on a windup.

Never heard of it
Never wrestle with a pig. You end up covered in muck and the pig loves it.
