Re: Ulster v Exeter 22nd August
I actually left feeling quite upbeat on friday night.
But it wasn't until I was half way down Onslow Parade after the final whistle that I discovered that the team in white was Exeter.

Never wrestle with a pig. You end up covered in muck and the pig loves it.

I was very upbeat after Friday night. Some young players stepped up and put themselves in the frame for first team selection, none of the new recruits looked crap and it didn't rain. What's not to like? The result was irrelevant.

And you appeared to get piece to watch the game. Were you on your own?Snipe Watson wrote:I was very upbeat after Friday night. To be honest it was a ragged affair with the odd spark and a few moments of concern about the defence but because the back row and back line were basically nothing like that which one would expect to see hopefully any worries about the defence could be minor .
Within this carapace of skepticism there lives an optimist

Mind you, having the Irish defence coach as head coach of Ulster should count for something.

No Junior was away getting a crepe when I was talking to you. As for peace, Grumpy was guldering away in my ear, but I can zone him out.........BR wrote:And you appeared to get piece to watch the game. Didn't see/hear Grumpy. Thought you were maybe short a few gulderers down that end. That said, we were definitely in preseason mode down our end.

Volunteer at an animal sanctuary; it will fill you with joy , despair, but most of all love, unconditional love of the animals.

Good to hear. Some positive reading on here. No hype of course. I'm interested to hear how Alan O'connor got on? I think he started, unless mistaken.Snipe Watson wrote:I was very upbeat after Friday night. He played the first half and I thought he was very good. Certainly, big Lewis and. McComb didn't seem to make us better, probably the opposite.Dave wrote:Good to hear. Some positive reading on here. Very good? I don't think any of the Ulster forwards, with the exception of VDM and maybe Clive Ross looked 'good' tbh.rocky wrote:He played the first half and I thought he was very good. He didn't do anything badly to be fair but I don't think saying he was very good is at all accurate.

Yeah, had a great shift
