Finding a Replacement for Anscombe?
You've got to get your first tackle in early, even if it's late.
Re: Ulster's Money
Was thinking something similar, that we must have less outgoing costs with a lower wage bill. I would have thought that the new stadium would have more running costs but I reckon that ticket price will reflect that.
I'm hoping that we will see further investment in the academy, with more places perhaps. Better contracts for decent squad players to encourage them to stay and create greater SID. I heard somewhere, probably on here, that we gambled a bit on success with investment in Afoa/Muller/Pienaar etc. in that we might win something and it would pay off. Perhaps we are just leveling out and creating a sustainable platform now to build a squad that will be more adaptable to injury.

I would hope some at least is going to grass roots and some going to development of the academy and an IQ flanker or two. That and what Pip says............kingofthehill wrote: Where is all the investment going?

Agreed Russ but what will all the glory hunters and the buying success brigade do.....or maybe they could build another stadium in Fermanagh and play 4 games a season in it to spread the brand....

In response to UR selling their naming rights
Was about to educate him on the fact that Munter and Musgrave in particular are jot investable commodities

CEO said, that the business model on new stadium was based on an average gate of 8k and we would be in profit. Anything above that was a bonus. So either figures are wrong or we have a big war chest. With what we currently have have as a team are we going to be as successful next year I hope So but not convinced we should be splashing the cash, as I am not that excited by what we are bringing in

People are saying invest in the academy, how exactly would you want any investment spent on the academy?

More places I would say. Give the likes of Chris Taylor a spot. This might not break the bank and would give players every chance to progress.RuPi wrote:People are saying invest in the academy, how exactly would you want any investment spent on the academy?

Re: Ulster's Money
Have been thinking about what's going to be done with the money for a while myself. Apparently we have been profitable the past few years, with reduced salary costs and increased revenue (both of which I think are gimmes, think even our senior squad numbers are down) then we should have a good bit of money to play with. Academy players aren't even paid that much as far as I can remember, so adding say 6 players wouldn't be that costly.
I could easily get this confused but when we talk about Ulster's money is this for both the professional team and development of the game across the province? If so I would like Ulster to spend the money on long term growth of the game, through improved facilities at clubs, improving coaching at all levels, stuff like that.

Re: income. Anybody hearing any numbers with the Kingspan deal? 10 years but I'm not seeing a price. My previous info was Kingspan were NOT offering the silly money that some were suggesting.
As for our friends in Cork, who'd want to be sponsored by a cash and carry?
