Double espresso (with 2 extra shots) in Caffe Nero at lunchtime.
A wee drop of red wine after work in the Cloth Ear.

Re: What are you drinking?
A new local brewery from Ballygowan called Farmageddon has started production. They are only brewing bottled ales and they currently have 3 in production:
Gold Pale Ale 4.2%
India Pale Ale 5.5%
India Export Porter 5.2%
I didn't think the top 2 were anything special but the India Export Porter is rather interesting. I got mine from the Vineyard on the Ormeau Road and no I have no connection with either organisation except as a satisfied customer.

Is the Vineyard not just the greatest shop in Belfast? Outstanding. They really need to get somewhere with a bit more space though, speaking to the boss man one day he said he'd bite the hand off the insurance firm (I think it is) next door, if they were to move on.waggonsroll wrote:A new local brewery from Ballygowan called Farmageddon has started production. Another fantastic flat white from Established this week. Getting spoiled now though, not really enjoying coffee from any other place now.

Brokers are vile things that annoy the actual insurance market
NI is said to be over broked - too many brokers. Meaning insurers do not want to enter the market. So end consumers get a worse deal
Brokers are like Wales

Yeah. You're so right Russ. The actual insurance firms are bastions of morality and lead the way on human ethics.Russ wrote:That my friend is a brokers.OneMore wrote:Is the Vineyard not just the greatest shop in Belfast? And those damn brokers. It's terrible when the broker refuses to pay out on a policy, how do brokers get away with it like that?

But consider a company who wants to insure people in the market. They form a contract that both parties adhere to.
Add in the broker. When you have lots of broking competition you start to see gaps in information as the broker wants the cheapest price. So leaves out vital information
Insurance contracts are based on information. If the broker does not provide information needed the contract is void
Broking is a dark art and unfortunately as they can communicate directly to the customer they can promote how they are always on the customers side. When they are not.
This is why insurance companies will not touch NI. Not terrorism, that just gets removed from cover. But brokers who fight each other for business meaning the insurance company does not get the information they need.
But all of this will fall on deaf ears. As the big bad insurer is out to get the little man
Re: What are you drinking?
I agree with what you say Russ, phone the companies directly and have a firm list of the cover you need and you will beat any brokers price for the same cover and will have less hassle if you need to claim, go through the broker and all becomes a game of Chinese whispers and you either finish up under or over covered, typical sort of thing is house insurance and you cover house for value but don't take into account the costs involved if the darn thing burns down, you could easily be 20% underRuss wrote:Im not saying that at allOneMore wrote:Yeah. I'm bringing a nice Islay single malt in the hip flask tonight ... going to enjoy the Fez moment!

Soberano (Spanish brandy) is the standard in mine. Smooth as a baby's Crozier and goes down right n easy after a couple of pints of stout.Cornerfleg wrote:I'm bringing a nice Islay single malt in the hip flask tonight ... going to enjoy the Fez moment!
Volunteer at an animal sanctuary; it will fill you with joy , despair, but most of all love, unconditional love of the animals.
