Wishing Matt a fully recovery.

Cardiff Blues have announced that 32-year-old Wales international hooker Matthew Rees will have "an enforced spell away from rugby" in order to recuperate from testicular cancer surgery.
Former Wales skipper Rees has won 58 caps and played in the 2009 British and Irish Lions Test series against South Africa. He is the current Blues captain.
The Blues said: "Cardiff Blues have today announced that club captain Matthew Rees is to have an enforced spell away from rugby.
"Hooker Rees, who joined the region from Scarlets this summer, will miss Friday's league trip to Ulster as he will undergo testicular surgery.
"Cardiff Blues would like to take this opportunity to wish Matthew a speedy recovery, and we look forward to seeing him back in action in the future.

As we all stand up for the Ulstermen on friday night I'm sure we can all wish Matt a full recovery as he stands up TO cancer.

Instead of a minutes silence a minute of clapping to show that everyone wishes the guy well even though he's Welsh its only an accident of birth.

I have a season ticket for the Terrace which IS sold out. There were still 50 tickets left this morning for the Prom but she would rather be on the terrace. If anyone can help with a ticket for the Terrace(East) it would be much appreciated.

Seems to be a very good recovery rate from this type of cancer when detected early so hopefully he'll be back soon.

I like this. Not the fact that he's Welsh

but a minute of clapping would certainly be a nice gesture of support.

good luck to Rees, i'd be a fan of the club showing a gesture of support. hope he batters it, as Merv says if caught early there's every chance.

Strange twist of fate that Friday is Pink night and the Blues are playing. Hopefully this should ensure a few more shekels in the collecting pails.

I am on the horns of a dilemma. I wish to be respectful to "Pink Night", I'd love to show support for M Rees, however I am more than just slightly annoyed with todays statement from the Welsh Regions and I'd love to make those feelings clear also.

You see the problem.

While I wholeheartedly endorse the sentiments, unless I missed it, they have not said what "type" of cancer he has, only the site. Is it in the public domain?
