Re: Ulster V Glasgow
Dropping Henry is an entirely stupid idea. He is the best 7 in Ireland and people want him dropped.......arsefoonery.
I would try Henderson at 8. He can carry ball and make yards.

That is a ridiculous thing to say.
Particularly as its true
Re: Ulster V Glasgow
If Henderson is available I'd have Henderson - Henry - Wilson there. I think Wilson needs game time to get sharp.
Think Allen has been unlucky not to start the season (unless I've been dozing and he's unavailable). McIlwaine isn't someone I would have brought back.

Sorry but have to disagree. Last Season Player of the Year - Nick. So why the feck are some people so anxious to drop him for Rog?
Yes he makes mistakes, but by far makes up for them by his commitment and skills. Wilson has looked only a pale shadow of the player he was.

Re: Ulster V Glasgow
I've seen little from Wilson so far.
I would bring in Hendo for Wilson, but if Nick is back, he starts.

Re: Ulster V Glasgow
Nick will be back. I have to disagree about Hendo at 8 though, I don't think he has the bulk to be an 8. I'd have him as 19 on the bench next week with Wilson at 20 because I thought Diack was one of our very few ok players last night.Snipe Watson wrote:I've seen little from Wilson so far.

You haven't seen me at my best yet. Let's be honest, you probably never will.
Re: Ulster V Glasgow
Again madness. No harm to Robbie, he scored a few crackers last year, but even with more experience he just doesnt break the line like Hendo or have his speed. Hendy to start with Nick and Henry, and Henry better watch his Brennan as SOD looks good every time he gets on the pitchruckover wrote:Nick will be back. Don't know about "bulk" but from talking to Hendo on a couple of occasions I do know he must have @ 3"ruckover wrote: I have to disagree about Hendo at 8 though, I don't think he has the bulk to be an 8.
on Roger and a lot lot heavier. Don't have the stats if someone can help with those. Nick we know has the
"bulk" and is prob our biggest 8. But IH is no weed, that I do know, quite mobile and has a turn of pace.
Needs the old head on young shoulders though. No substitute for experience in this game....Joe Heller syndrome.

Re: Ulster V Glasgow
Nick will start no brainier. He destroyed teams in the rabo last year.
I have my own tv channel, what have you got?

Hendo is a bloomin monster with all his bulk in his glutes and thighs. He's made to carry ball a bit like Louis Picamoles.

Re: Ulster V Glasgow
Henry maybe the best 7 in Ireland but he wasnt brilliant yesterday, a game off will give him the kick he needs, plus it would be good to see more of Doyle and what hes made of.
Agree with Snipes comment on Hendo at 8, would be really good to see him get his hands on the ball more than he would at 6, but if he goes to 8 there arent many options for 6 - McCommish not great, Wilson/FNW not 6's either, Joyce too inexperienced vs Glasgow. Henry to 6, Doyle 7?

Re: Ulster V Glasgow
It was the first game of the season. How much rugby has Chris had? It's madness to suggest dropping him.
Re: Ulster V Glasgow
BD - Henry to 6? I've spouted some tripe over the past few days, I will admit, but that tops the lot. Henry is a magnificent 7, one of the best in Ireland, and there he should stay. To suggest any different is madness.

Has everyone gone a bit crazy on this thread
