Maybe a class difference from the ville and avoca but definitely worth a shout. Anywhere which has a review quoting "burritos as big as a baby's arm" on their website surely has to be a winner!LastKnightoftheproms wrote:So you would suggest I try it?Tap+Go wrote:Boojum.....mmm.....if Carlsberg did Mexican take out food..

Any chance of the Ulster men back some of their allocation? Would 9,000 come down to Dublin? Serious shortage of tickets down this neck of the woods, a good chunk of season ticket holders will miss out on a ticket and absolutely no chance of a public sale.

Also didn't stop Gary Glitter - he opened a restaurant in London’s West End in the early 90s called Glitter’s Snack Bar, using the slogan “Leader of the Snack”.big mervyn wrote:Maybe this place:LastKnightoftheproms wrote:Edit - good lord. Re: #ourDS
It is that exact place. I went on Friday for my pre-semi-final packing. Tremendous food. However, you should note:LastKnightoftheproms wrote:
Is this boojum place where all of the people queue outside on Chichester Street? I've often wondered what it's like but never been willing to give up a luncheon in Vaudeville or the Avoca to find out.
1-Average age of clientele is somewhat younger than me and therefore considerably younger than you;
2-You have to queue for your dinner;
3-When you ask for a couple of beers the young man views you with some suspicion and immediately concludes you are one to keep an eye on and advises that he is only allowed to sell you two (which in passing is exactly the right number to accompany a burrito and nachos and have half a beer left to enjoy whilst reading the paper)(further in passing no-one else on my visit was reading a paper but many were engrossed in playing with their phones;
3-You share tables with other members of the public (including young attractive female types);
4-The young people seem to instinctively know where the knives, forks and napkins live but you like me may not be able to find them resulting in me eating a large portion of nachos (runny cheese, salsa, sour cream etc) with my fingers and having to rip the paper wrapping my burrito into makeshift napkins thus causing me to look like a member of the homeless community who had been given a free all you can eat deal;
5-When you watch young attractive females so they lead you to the location of the knives, forks and napkins you will get funny looks;
6-Although Burrito and nachos really fills you up it does not seem to soak up pints as well as sausages and champ or a large soda (I suspect a nutritionist will advise there is not much in the way of carbs in a burrito and perhaps lots of carbs is better for soaking up pints);
None of this is a criticism of the fine establishment and the food was excellent, it is more a reflection on me than them and their systems.

I miss Boojum
Re: #ourDS
Ha! ATUS - perhaps you left something out of your overview regarding "bookings"? I'd say as long as you turn up at a time when no-one else in Belfast wants to eat (don't go at lunchtime, don't go at dinnertime), you'll be served in no time.LastKnightoftheproms wrote:ATUS, you are the Michael Winner of uafc. Boojum itself ripped off the idea from the American chain Chipotle. It has to be said though that they've done it a lot better.Russ wrote: They have other Boojum rips offs which suck donkey ballix

I didn't think I could cringe any more than I did over the Twickenham one.
