Only an opinion though.

I admire persistence .... even if mistakenly given because ignoring it en masse the first dozen times was mistaken by the perp for obviously missing its Buddha like enlightenment ...it's like a quaint wee sparrow that used to fly into our kitchen window regularly ... each day without fail ... sparrow - window - thump ... it never gave up ... I loved that wee sparrow, till it knocked its Brennan through it's beak and a cat got it..

Folks .... I think it's an early form of Protospide the dialect I'm not sure of ... some professors of Linguistic disambiguation say it was succeeded by a rudimentary club and a grunt around 10 000 BC as once Neanderthals became toilet trained they needed a more modern and reliable means of communication.

Any suggestions for pre match drinks?

Given 7.45pm kickoff we probably want to be staking our claim on terrace by 7pm but hopefully in bar by 5pm.
Some bar some of the Connacht lot gather in I recall - but cant recall the name.

O'Connors I think, it's the wee place with the bogs out the back though on the right when you turn right after walking down from the stadium

You can be correct about me until the cows come home, but my opinion of Cave is that he is not fast enough to play at a level higher than he currently is playing, subjectively.

If Ulster want to get to the next level, they will need to find an outside centre who is faster than Darren Cave
Unfortunately the next level for Cave is International, and I know we want world domination, but Ulster won't be playing international rugby any time soon

Ulster Captain, Johann Muller, has recovered from the arm injury that he sustained in Ulster's Heineken Cup Quarter-Final match against Saracens and is named in Mark Anscombe's extended 25-man squad to face Connacht at the Sportsground on Friday night (kick off 7.45pm).

John Afoa has returned from New Zealand and is also included in the panel, as are Andrew Trimble, Paddy Jackson and Chris Henry who were all rested for the win over the Dragons last Friday night.
Paul Marshall is in line to make his 100th appearance for Ulster in the match.

With just two league games remaining for Ulster in the RaboDirect PRO12, the fixture is highly important as the Province chase a home semi-final in the competition.

Ulster are top of the RaboDirect PRO12, three points ahead of second-placed Leinster and four points ahead of Glasgow who are in third.

Extended Ulster squad to face Connacht in the RaboDirect PRO12, Friday 19th April, The Sportsground, Galway, 7.45pm;

Forwards (14)
Chris Henry, Callum Black, Rory Best, Robbie Diack, Dan Tuohy, Lewis Stevenson, Declan Fitzpatrick, Nick Williams, Rob Herring, John Afoa, Ricky Lutton, Tom Court, Iain Henderson, Joahnn Muller;

Backs (11)
Ruan Pienaar, Jared Payne, Paddy Jackson, Paul Marshall, Peter Nelson, Tommy Bowe, Andrew Trimble, Michael Allen, Adam D’Arcy, Stuart Olding, Darren Cave.
Don't mess with the Johan!

Perhaps like Earls? :shock:

Cave lacks a certain natural athleticism; I think that has been long established by anyone with any sense. What Cave has done, unlike most rugby players on this island, is find ways to work around his own limitations and in doing so, he has turned into a very fine and rather refined outside centre. He is the best passing centre of the ball in Ireland at the moment and I include the mighty and infallible O'Driscoll in that statement. He is, probably, the most rugby-intelligent player under 30 on the island, as well and by some distance, the smartest in Ulster. An extra yard of pace would see Cave considered in an entirely different bracket than he currently is and yet as a player, he has made the absolute most of his abilities and found ways to mask his limitations. I can't think of many other players on this island who have done that.

In some ways, I think it may hold his international prospects back but the truth is that we simply don't know because we've never seen him play international rugby against a topflight nation and so it is only speculation. Based on what he's done for Ulster in the past three or four seasons, he's worthy of at least the opportunity to succeed O'Driscoll; when you compare to the other options for 13 and the international chances they've been given, it seems baffling that the honest answer about Cave is that we don't know. We can speculate that he doesn't have the pace for international rugby but who actually knows?

Tempting as that invite is .... I’m afraid sparring at this level can only end up akin to shooting fish in a finger ... if you want proper dissing you've got to up your game, considerably ... slapping a cheap inflatable punch beg with the air slowly leaking from it loses any novelty or play value very quickly.
