You haven't seen me at my best yet. Let's be honest, you probably never will.

What happens if is child is late? Ie late next week, he dosent get back....we are fooked
You've got to get your first tackle in early, even if it's late.

Is there any other job where you would be allowed this time off? Is the question not why is his wife not having the child here as most other wives of people employed overseas do?
Re: Leinster v Ulster
If that's the case I would rather he stayed now and left at end of season.ruckover wrote:If they are I'm not sure it's even worth it...Cornerfleg wrote:Any chance these are the conditions for BBJ to stay next year?

There is no way Ulster will let him miss the quarter-final. If they do, that is incredibly poor management.pip14 wrote:What happens if is child is late? Ie late next week, he dosent get back....we are fooked

Agreed. This is becoming a bit of a farce. We're now into the crunch part of the season and he's away off to New Zealand missing big matches. This should not be happening - he has a contract that must be honoured.Rooster wrote:If that's the case I would rather he stayed now and left at end of season.ruckover wrote:If they are I'm not sure it's even worth it...Cornerfleg wrote:Any chance these are the conditions for BBJ to stay next year?

His wife chose to return to NZ - BBJ signed a contract to do a job of work - he should be there!!!
Edit - sanity check - do we know for sure he has returned to NZ - can anyone confirm?

I agree it's annoying but we aren't party to things behind the scenes. It's possible that Humph and Maak have given him this week - in conjunction with medical info on the baby's likely dates - on the proviso that he absolutely, cannot miss Sarries.
Similarly if we're keen to keep BBJ for as long as we can it befits us to offer him get-arounds where possible. Certainly its not ideal - least of all for the player - but its something UR have left themselves open to.
I'll sorry to see BBJ not line out as much as the next man but I'd suggest what we're really frustrated about is the lack of depth below First XV - a similar problem under McGlock, when players haven't necessarily been blooded with future problems in mind. All that said McCall and Lutton need to play sometime, otherwise what's the point?

The important words were 'at this level'. He hasn't done that, nor does he look to have the physical attributes to do so.breakdown wrote:He can play at 15 if needed, not saying he will or should. I hate to say it, but the logical answer to this is
9. Marshall/Heaney 10. Jackson
21. Heaney/Marshall 22. Pienaar 23. Nelson
Or some variation thereof.
Re: Leinster v Ulster
Took a quick glance on Afoa's twitter there. A conversation from 2 days ago indicated he is back in NZ alright.
I wonder did UR do this under the radar on purpose?
It has to be Black at 1 and Court at 3. Healy will be licking his lips at the prospect.

It is hard enough to remember my opinions, without also remembering my reasons for them
Re: Leinster v Ulster
When we faced Leinster here we put BBJ and Court against the Ireland front row of Healy and Bent. It was the difference and the mainreason we won convincingly.
Unless Court can magic up a huge 60 mins against Healy, take him by surprise if you will, then we're in for a long night.

My pronouncement for this week: No Afoa, No Chance.
NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.

I'm not arguing -
