Used to happen all the time. Bar owners are renowned for being paranoid, but there is still the occassional one who trusts his staff.rumncoke wrote:No bar would allow staff to take money unless it has been rung in

Well at least it'll have to be rung in at some point, but not necessarily before you're finished serving the customer(s).

Regrettably I find myself having to withdraw this statement. The jury is still out, but it isn't lookin good. More to follow...BR wrote:I would also like to again commend the standard of the Murphys at Ravenhill. IMHO it is a better pint of stout than the Guinness previously served there. Given that Lavery's already serve one of the best pints of stout in town, I have no fear that the kegs (of whatever brand) are in safe hands.

I miss Guinness at Ravers - Murphys is poor ... it's like having NOC at 10 when you could have Dan Carter.

Re: Improved Bar Facilities
I never remember the Guinness being Carter quality - but last season's Murphys was Humphries. This year it's NOC - early days, so let's hope it's been a blip. We will, of course, be monitoring closely.Cornerfleg wrote:I miss Guinness at Ravers - Murphys is poor ... it's like having NOC at 10 when you could have Dan Carter.

I had a couple of pints of murphys on friday night and they were quite acceptable.
Luck of the draw?

The quality of the Murphys doesn't bother you then. What do you drink instead?Cornerfleg wrote:If the doctor ever tells me "Cornerfleg ... you have to give the booze up" I'll make sure the Mrs buys me nahin but Murphys ... cos it'd make sure I'd stay on the wagon ...
