Havent read any yet but i see he is reported to have said that.... "Any fool can critisise, condemn and complain - and most fools do." He possibly had a point but we digress.
And upon reflection i was probably inaccurate in estimating the price i'll pay - taking inflation etc into account i reckon that should i locate this rugby top in a Charity Shop in 10 years time it'll probably cost me more like £7.50

I doubted you would have, the books don't come with beefy baps.

I was wondering about our American cousin.

Indeed a pity it's going. Started 'big school' in '76 just around the corner and used to see many a 'damage sale' there back in the bad old days - having said that, they always came back again.
Was the same for me, got my first boots & gum shield there.
I didn't realise ssmoores had taken them over. Shame because that's the last time I'll be in, I'd rather watch armitage, brennan & thomas talk about good sportsmanship, than give another penny to ssmoores.

I remember when the "stores " were in Wellington Place I think it got the worse of a little shopllifting

Shoplifting you say ?

Lifted about 10 feet in the air

Old joke but then it was about as long ago as that?

But their major dept at that time was golf the other depts were seasonal come August the football boots and jerseys with the odd hockey stick Easter the cricket bats tennis rackets and balls and June the swim wear.

To many memories are linked to it.

NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.
