Possibly do a ski flight in the winter, you might have to stay a week though or if flights and match don't fall on the right day/time then you might have to stay for 2 weeksbrowner wrote:I see that Flybe fly direct to Clermont Ferrand from the City airport, but their schedule only goes to September...anyone know when their winter scedule is announced or is it just a summer location?

Aironi sign 6 new players,
Aironi have bolstered their playing ranks for next season with a trio of halfback signings.
Cheetahs playmaker Naas Olivier will be joined at the Magners League franchise by Hurricanes scrum-half Tyson Keats and Italian international fly-half Luciano Orquera, who makes the switch after a spell in France with Brive.
Joining them in signing are three young prospects, including 22-year-old hooker Tommaso D'Apice, who played three league games for the franchise during this year's Six Nations.
D'Apice has signed from Rugby Roma, while fullback Ruggero Trevisan and flanker Filippo Ferrarini are on their way from Crociati Parma. D'Apice and Trevisan will be in action for Italy 'A' in the forthcoming Churchill Cup.

Probably right Rooster...and it seems an expensive route as well...still I'll keep an eye on it, might get lucky.Rooster wrote:Possibly do a ski flight in the winter, you might have to stay a week though or if flights and match don't fall on the right day/time then you might have to stay for 2 weeksbrowner wrote:I see that Flybe fly direct to Clermont Ferrand from the City airport, but their schedule only goes to September...anyone know when their winter scedule is announced or is it just a summer location?

Just to put to bed the rumours of a ground switch for Connacht. We will have a new permanent stand in place for the start of the season and temporary ones will be used for home HC games. This will bring the Sportsground up to approx. 7,500.
We're delighted with our group and if the fixtures are condusive we hope to welcome followers of our neighbouring provinces for what for us is history in the making.
Tough group for Ulster this year, but good away trips.

you are only allowed to play one fly-half - 16 players is against the rules.Rémy63 wrote: Euhhh no, Brock James has a contract unti June 2012 and he is negociating to extend it until 2014. Brock James and David Skrela will be our 2 fly-half next year.
Left hand, right hand, it doesn't matter. I'm amphibious.

Would love to make the trip to Clermont Auvergne and would imagine plenty of people would be keen to take in a new destination. However, getting there would seem difficult to say the least and not fussed on travelling with the team as this would limit the adventure to one night!
Maybe big Ken or some other enterprising individual could put on a plane?

Welcome here tigerburnie, there were some tigger fans on here before when we met or on the old version of the message boards anyway.tigerburnie wrote:Hi Tiger in the camp, look forward to the fixtures,I live in Scotland now so Belfast is easier to get to than Welford road, hope to make the trip.

Interesting draw and perhaps while some think 2 teams will go through I am of the view that only 1 will make it due to taking points off each other, a precious away win could well seal the group but bonus points in the game you lose will probably be the deciding factor.

We dont need the English to win the European Cup
Re: HEC Draw Live
Correction 60 as the crow flies equates to 84 miles by road. Not too many more alternatives unless its coach trip or parachute

Re: HEC Draw Live
Not sure what route you're intending, but I'd have put it at closer to 125 miles. Twisty enough mountain roads - you'd be flying to do it in under 2 hours.namron wrote:Correction 60 as the crow flies equates to 84 miles by road. Not too many more alternatives unless its coach trip or parachute
Re: HEC Draw Live
AFAIK there are excellent TGV (rail) connections from Lyon to Clermont
Bo***cks to Brexit
Re: HEC Draw Live
Also, there is autoroute all the way. I know, I've done it before.

I didn't think that was a TGV route - TEOZ perhaps.rocky wrote:AFAIK there are excellent TGV (rail) connections from Lyon to Clermont
