Re: BBC coverage, what's the verdict ?
On BBC iplayer yesterday the lack of sync was noticeable - just like on Sky on Saturday. I have just part played it again on iplayer and it seems to have been corrected by BBC.

Funny though the actual sound from the play was in sync, I didn't notice any difference from when a ball was kicked and when you heard the thud ... (and then the groan)
Always ask yourself, "What would Big Rodney do"... And every time the answer is... "Eat It"

Yip same here, I thought tv sound was out and corrected it then discovered reff and other sound all wrong so went back to original, Gusher seemed 1.5 seconds ahead of play though.Cornerfleg wrote:Funny though the actual sound from the play was in sync, I didn't notice any difference from when a ball was kicked and when you heard the thud ... Massively annoying this. What's the time difference between Belfast and Galway anyway?!?

In which direction?Cornerfleg wrote:About 65 years?
Not sure this is confined to BBC NI but do any BBC cameramen have any appreciation of the game whatsoever? The number of tight camera shots, focusing on a small group of players is incredibly annoying when you need to see what's happening on a wider spectrum. Noticed this in the pictures from BBC Alba on Friday and it's a regular bugbear of mine during the 6N.

Depends on where YOU are coming from - Galway is about 65 years behind Belfast, but about 65 years ahead of DublinCormac wrote:In which direction?Cornerfleg wrote:About 65 years?
(Yes, I know - parts of Norn Iron are about 300 years behind the rest of Europe, but that's another story, and not as much fun as poking our southern brothers with a sharp stick)
I'm not arguing -

I always find a trip to Belfast to be a pleasant reminder of the 90's. Of course, that the 1890's I'm talking about.Cap'n Grumpy wrote:Depends on where YOU are coming from - Galway is about 65 years behind Belfast, but about 65 years ahead of DublinCormac wrote:In which direction?Cornerfleg wrote:About 65 years?

Cant really pin too much blame on the camera men for that. Theres plenty of cameras covering all sorts of angles. Its the producer in broadcast office selecting which camera to broadcast to the tv viewer!by Cormac » Tue Sep 28, 2010 12:08 pm

Re: BBC coverage, what's the verdict ?
Who was the host broadcaster for the game in Galway?
The fact that Gusher was not in sync with the video suggests to me that BBC were taking the video feed from another broadcaster.
