It may have been risky but he was blatantly obstructed.
From the rolling glens of Antrim through the hills of Donegal we will stand and shout for Ulster as we win both scrum and maul from the lovely lakes of Fermanagh tae the shores of ould Lough Gall we will scream and shout for Ulster as we beat them one and all!

Ulster never had enough possession to be competitive and didn't have any length of time with the ball and in the leinster 22.

Like in the llanelli game when Ulster threw away a winning start, Ulster clawed themselves back to 13-13 then threw away any chance to snatch the win. PW will cop the flack for a speculative chip in his 22... going for glory.

It wasn't pretty - too much aerial ping pong.

The major difference (apart from the lack of composure at key times) was that while Leinster did kick, they did so from deep. But in the middle areas of the filed they carried the ball. Their support seemed to know this and what started out as an innocuous Leinster drive between our 10mentre line & halfway, became a dangerous situation on our goalline. In contrast, we relied on individual breaks plus (speculative) kicks.

Despite the little posssession that Ulster won we played well and we were right in the game till Wallace had a brain freeze. What was he thinking!

At such a critical point in th season for Ulster and at an even more critical moment in the game, he made a daftest decision I have seen in sometime... to chip kick in his 22!

I hope MW shows his displeasure with that, my wife saw mine

MW comments: Ulster kicking game poor & lost patience in the second half trying to run the ball out off their own half... chip kick was madness. Ulster need to learn how to be patient. Bums will be kicked on Monday.

What about the mayhem after the match trying to get away from the ground? Did Gusher and co have anything to say or had they booked a Value Cab?

I reckon the reason why there was so much kicking from ulster was that we never seemed to go through enough phases. The likes of Nagusa and Trimble should be running the kicks back if its not in our 22' instead of kicking (which is their weakest part of the game), Daniallie's hard running would have been great for this game and it i thought McCullagh was extremly poor. We definatly missed Caldwell tonight. Overall a disappointing night with our pack (bar big ED, Pollock and Ferris) not standing up to their Leinster counterparts

Just back from the game, Healy was immense, Leinster deserved their win, Clancy is useless (equally poor for both sides), Contepomi is a prat, Elsom was not man of the match, Healy was, 1F had a stormer, i was cold, and Matt McCullough should never be a pro rugby player in any era. oh and the ELVs are killing our game, that and inept refereeing of the breakdown... leads to a wimblesonesque kick fest... I'd a lovely kebab on the way home though!

Healy really came of age tonight. I was worried about his scrummaging but he did well as did McCormack when he came on.
Normally I am completely blind to leinster forard passes but he one that set up the penalty in front of the posts (about 50 mins) was so clearly forward I had my head buried in my hands and only looked up to see Leinster getting a penalty! Happy from a Leinster point of view that they showed some balls after the Castre surrender. From an Ulster point of view their tactics were terrible......with our back 3 as well as Fitzgerald, Conters etc. the high ball tactic was just what leinster needed. Hard to understand but I was glad of it.
Anyway great hospitality as usual... best travelling contingent I can remember and we went away happy.

was great to see so many away fans at ravers, and the noise you all made helped create a cracking atmosphere. is great to see the old provincial derbies becoming bigger and bigger games every season

NOt a good game really, we threw away the possibility of winning it wyth PW's chip - did not think they really desreved it - Ferris, Humph, Cave,Best had good games IMO - boy did Cian Healy play well - very good prospect iof he continues.
