My French mustn't be as good as I thought!! Absolutely no offence intended. Think your postings are accurate and outspoken as they should be.

Sorry if my crap French has given offence. I was trying to be friendly and encouraging. This doesn't happen to me in Brittany!!

Dead Ball

I actually like the French as a nation and as individuals very much, even their rugby teams although they are at times quite dirty and unpleasant. I think Ulster could learn from their approach to winning.

Probably best not to encourage my negative side!!

Only kidding. Gary mate before this turns ugly I have had no part any of the following:

1) Your comments under a different moniker
2) The URSC statement being discussed
3) The MR statement on the othe MB

So what is it you want me to justify? I am simply putting the comments together and trying to work out what is going on something I wouldnt have to do if you as a committee would have come out explained what was going on!
Since you are no longer on the committee I assume you dont now know whether there has been a split or not?
But you did say "They are yes men whose purse strings are held by the Ulster Branch. So how can they do anything but yes MR to death? "

Can you substantiate this? Or are you referring to the current Committee i.e. without CT and myself? In either case, how do you know what goes on between the Committee and Mike Reid?

The existing committee hires a venue, similiar to the AGM.
All of the vocal MB contributees attend along with any interested supporters, and take a vote on OFFICIAL or UNOFFICIAL. ( EVEN INDEPENDANT )
Draw up a new SIMPLE set of rules and regs.
Draw up a member list, and begin taking subs.
Arrange a monthly or bi weekly meeting.
And them go back to basics VENUE, TRAVEL and EVENTS.

THEN APPROACH Mike Reid to meet supporters on supporters terms.

ANY TAKERS?
And what happens to the funds already held by the URSC? Guess who would get them
How many people could you get to turn up 20, 30 , 40?
Do you realise we would have no access to players?

As I have said on numerous occasions, this all might well be the way forward - but leave it until the end of the season when things can be determined at the agm.

Gary
UR control your money as a committe. This do this by forwarding you your £3000 for the season and then collecting all other monies directly themselves. The committee's ability to disagree with UR is then compromised. For if the Fat Controller doesn't like their tone he can adversely affect what extra funding you get if it is needed this season. This is a ridiculous situation, and as such I am not convinced it leaves the committee in any other position but to be yes men.

YES!! I don't think that the revolution should worry us. We should sign up with Classic Sports Travel as an independent supporters club and offer deals and discounts.

We don't need MR's approval for anything. Look at how he handled the final for god's sake!! WHO DARES WINS.

I have appreciated the efforts of others who have preceded me in the supporters club. I am willing to help if I can. I know that others will be of a similar mind.

I already have. In many posts. Not once during my time on the Committee did we ever say "yes" to Mike Reid against our own interests.
Can't really make it any clearer than that. But then, I suppose conspiracy theories are much more fun. Doesn't make them true though.

Gary, even if 20 turn up it is a start.
As for access to players, who says a player cant turn up to see people he knows? Im sure there is enough people in the now possibliy defunct URSC who know players.
Besides it is an awful long time to the AGM which only attracts 20/30ish anyway?
Can all the URSC members not be contacted by letter or email?

There is a problem with players' contracts - they can be prevented from appearing in press photos etc.
You are missing the point - whether or not the supporters' club is independent isn't a big issue - I believe the majority of those interested, including myself and I expect quite a few on the Committee, would support this.
The real decision is whether we are independent and official, or independent and unofficial.
