Re: Saracens v Munster
Commentator says he might be slightly biased- he's as fair as Brian Moore- suggesting ref biased and afraid to give Sarries a penalty. Don't you just love the whingeing from L.Irish and this guy?

Hopefully Munster will send up a weakened team to give some of this team a rest.

munster made hard work of that, but probably just about deserved it.. they didn't manage the second half well at all, despite all the sky guys fawning over them.. poor kicking display by half-backs..
was it just me or was the game absolutely appallingly officiated, particularly at the breakdown, it was a complete mess, just a big pile of guys lying over the ball, coming in from the side, standing offside, and he did nothing all match and then suddenly yellow carded johnson..

Won't be able to make any judgement on the second point until see extended highlights on RTE 2 tonight. As to the first point Munster seemed, as far as I can tell from the radio, to make harder work of it than they should have. Especially when they had 14 players to 13.darkside lightside wrote:munster made hard work of that, but probably just about deserved it.. they didn't manage the second half well at all, despite all the sky guys fawning over them.. poor kicking display by half-backs..

I was half thinking the same thing but I ended with ...to give some of our team a rest
Re: Saracens v Munster
Missed why Munster got a penalty at the end as dsls said breakdown was just a free for all every time, game was a bit of a mess and Sarries should have taken their chances earlier and could easily have won that game.

tense match, well done to munster, the sky commentary was awful, when lloyd was laying into leamy the commentators leapt to his defence, "he wouldnt have thrown all those punches if he wasnt provoked" bla bla, sickening after all the crap brian smith has come out with.
the refereeing of the breakdown was awful too

unfortunately the Munster B team beat us the last time despite our half team lead- I doubt if Ulster will get any rest no matter whom they send up.

........... Leamy could easily have gifted them the result at the end with that stamp. International experience

From the replays, it seemed that Leamy had a hold of the collar, not the neck and it certainly didn't seem like a deliberate attempt to choke, although I'll happily be corrected on that. There is still no excuse for lashing out like that - punches were still being thrown long after Leamy had let go of Lloyd and he was lucky to only get away with a yellow.
Good win for Munster; like the Clermont game, the discipline to just about hold out in the dying moments without giving away a penalty is a credit to the players on the park, even if, on both occassions, one player had a rush of blood.

Re: Saracens v Munster
The only thing being penalised at the breakdown was playing the ball while on the ground with Munster being the team caught most often
Sarries a big pack- an outhalf - a wing and full back with a hair cut attitude and most of the pack were wind up merchants
Besides the try RoG was terrible and the gap for the try was so wide a front row could have seen it and scored
Munster just about deserved it despite one of the worst displays of defensive kicking in years during the second half
Typical loose foot work from Munster which escaped major penalties and sarries should have been a man down in the first half for fighting and punching which deserved a yellow the guy in the second should have seen red
But well done the Munster men hope we beat you

2B or not 2B that is the question ?

If I had been arsed, I could probably have got up out of my seat and made it through myself.bogboy wrote:the gap for the try was so wide a front row could have seen it and scored
Hopefully the new seeding arrangements mean we don't see the likes of London Irish or Saracens at this stage again.
Re: Saracens v Munster
Leamy has stamped on opposition players at every level, consistency is his middle name.cables wrote:........... Leamy could easily have gifted them the result at the end with that stamp. International experience
Re: Saracens v Munster
Leamy actually had a grip on the velcro chin-strap of his scrumcap and wouldn't let go, pulling his head downwards (and possibly using his knuckles against his throat). Not very nice, but lloyd overreacted with the punches. And that stamp was a poor decision.Neil F wrote: From the replays, it seemed that Leamy had a hold of the collar, not the neck and it certainly didn't seem like a deliberate attempt to choke, although I'll happily be corrected on that.
