That's just stupid CC and rude.
1. While Mr Newton is in an ICU, only his family will be allowed to visit him.
2. How do we know that UB hasn't sent a card / letter or other such thing?

well it would be very hard for a man who was very drunk, with a fractured scull and broken jaw, whos condition required him to be admitted to intensive care to tell people "oh ive been assulted".

and like people have been saying ICU is family only so it was either the police or hotel staff who said hed been attacked!!

No. I don't know if they have or if they haven't and that's the whole point.
Forgetting URSC for the minute and going back to UB which is who you were talking about. I doubt very much that they'd be advertising the fact that they'd sent a card / letter etc, especially on a message board.

bearing in mind of course, that if it wasn't an assault, and a case of somebody too drunk to walk, falling over and hurting themself badly enough, should the URSC ir UB be sending a card???? I dont think so.

Don't see why not. A gentleman comes to visit us, ends up in ICU, I for one hope he makes a swift and full recovery no mater how it happened*. I'm kind of glad it may not have been the type of serious assault that was first reported, but that's cold comfort for his wife and weens.

Having had a few friends hospitalised during/immediatley after away trips, I understand that 'there but for the grace of god ...'

*ok I suppose if he was found to be the assaulter rather than the assaulted, then my sympathy may be a little thin, but I don't think anybody is suggesting such a thing

yes, i get all that believe me (and i hope he recovers), but when (erm if...) I injure myself through total inebriation after a game... i wouldn't expect the RFU to send me a card or a bunch of flowers.

The PSNI will be pleased that the UAFC message board (and UB if this is to be believed) has already worked out no foul play was involved.

Can't see anyone has said that.
Two versions at present.
1. He was assaulted as in first reports
2. He fell over as in report on radio by doorman/hotel

Perhaps the truth could even lie somewhere in between and he was assaulted but not at the door.

YoungMan, the only place you can get food at 3:30AM is the 24-hour Spar facing Great Victoria Street train station, about a 5-10 minute walk from Shaftsbury Square.

Unfortunately not, it's just yer regular Spar, but! it has a doorman after 9PM or something.
You just take what you want up to the till and pay for it, no fancy waiter services or anything like that!
