France: Poitrenaud, Rougerie, Skrela, Traille, Dominici, Michalak, Elissalde; Poux, Ibanez, De Villiers, Nallet, Thion, Nyanga, Dusautoir, Harinordoquy.
Replacements: Bruno, Mas, Chabal, Martin, Mignoni, Beauxis, Clerc.

Really can't see the point in putting the players through this kind of thing in the aftermath of the emotion of the semi-finals.

Same as in the football RWC, just seems like a completely meaningless and irrelevent fixture.

don't agree. sometimes, but not this game. the pumas deserve one more turn, and from half-reading L'Equipe this morning with my pidgin french, the French nation seems to be treating the game as a cathartic exercise!

plus any excuse to have the french playing at the Parc des Princes again is surely a good thing.

this could, actually, given the teams involved, be one of the best 3/4 games of all time

Pichot has called for those who haven't had a game yet to get a run on Friday. I expect the Pumas to make wholesale changes. The front row are all carrying knocks and in general the SF looked one game too far.

What a cracker of a match. Argentina richly deserved their win. I'll have to disagree with Barney on who needs a 3/4 playoff. That was one of the best games of the tournament. I still can't believe the French folded so easily.
