Re: Lions v Ulster Sat Sep 28 11:55am KO (UK Time)
The tight head situation is shocking. The emerging Ireland nonsense is emerging to be the problem we all believed it would. Yup. It's going to put a big dent in the start of our season. Don't get me wrong I think our first xv would have struggled in SA but I think the mental trauma for the hoking w...

Re: Welcome to Ulster, Aidan Morgan.
Lowry did have chances at 10, and in a second playmaker 15 system and didn't shine in either. He was clearly not a viable 10 going forwards. I agree that the new guy looks very similar to lowry both on paper and in his highlights reel. That's why I have my doubts he is the future. One of the glaring...

Re: Welcome to Ulster, Aidan Morgan.
Supposedly a good running and bold 10 who makes breaks and plays to the line but has questionable kicking ability. Very unlikely to be the answer for ulster but would love to be proved wrong.

Re: Help us
Sharks win challenge cup so are qualified for champions cup next year. So only the top 7 in URC qualify. 8th place misses out (unless they win the grand final in which case 7th misses out). We need some points from munster, or stormers to beat lions, or neither of the benetton embra match to take 5 ...

Can someone explain to me what was wrong with Lowry's try on 5 minutes? And the earlier one could have gone either way, but may well have been the right decision. I couldn't see anything wrong with the second try either Solidarnosc. Smart play by Lowry not rewarded. First one I guess Bloomagoos got...

Re: Help us
Think embra fans will feel hard done by the ref made some extremely controversial calls. But thank you munster our route to qualification looks a bit easier now. We have a good shot at 7th behind whichever wins the benetton v embra game.

Re: Squad depth 2024/25
Addisons form of late combined with humes injury makes the decision to let him go look foolish in hindsight. He would have been in a weak position to negotiate salary wise so unless it was his decision he could have been offered another year relatively cheap. Nonsense on stilts. Addison has always ...

Reading some of the posts on Babbling Brook. It should a 20+ victory for Leinster says one poster. Another poster says that even if they send up a B team it should be enough to get the points. I mean, it's hard to argue with that. A win would be season saving for us but I don't think it's likely. 2...

Re: Contract Situation
The former Springbok legend and Toyota Cheetah captain, Ruan Pienaar, will take the first steps in his coaching career when he officially joins the Free State u.21 and Toyota Academy coaching staff as the new backline and attack coach. Pienaar will still play for the Toyota Cheetahs in the SA Cup, ...

Re: The run in
Definitely. Some of the loss is compensated by challenge cup gate receipts but typically challenge cup attracts less spectators than champions cup. Probably a loss of TV revenue as well.shamalicious wrote: ↑Sun Apr 21, 2024 9:14 am Surely Ulster would take another financial hit if they end up in the Challenge Cup next year?

We have a free run to audition everyone, if we fail to reach Champs trophy so be it. We need to be 100% certain of the future for the start of pre season. We missed out on the revenue of ONE champions cup game this season and it put a 750k hole in our finances. Missing out on ALL of the champions C...

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!
Even for a province with the chequered NIQ signing history that Ulster have, Cruden would be an awful signing.
