CIMANFOREVER wrote: Sun Feb 04, 2024 1:23 pm Not sure which thread this belongs, but as we're talking U20s, A comment on matches played away from Aviva. Munster host Crusaders in Cork in front of 40k, Leinster have their annual 2/3 soirees at Aviva. Both are first up for touring teams, U20s internationals etc. Connacht and ourselves get square root of FA to raise funds.
We can argue that both have earned the right, but you really gotta wonder......
France and England take their international teams around the country. Wales I think have done likewise. We've had little or nothing, poor BABAs game aside. Not sure if Westies gave had anything.
UR in fairness taking Ulster to Cavan was the correct call.

We really see where we're placed in the hierarchy of IRFU priorities
Fear not, we'll have a 30,000 plus stadium up the Andystown road to use soon
Wouldn’t bet the house on it. DUP looked delighted to take up the communities minister on Saturday.
To play Ulster and NI matches... surreal. Huge stadium for free fast tracked on the premise of a couple of potential NI matches.. i wonder is it in the contract agreement that it belongs to UK taxpayers and not the GAA, so they can't give all this oul foreign sports ballix? Isn't Ulster GAAthe most militant? They can always fill it with Wolftones comeback tour gigs i suppose.

Maybe they will get more funding for Ulster rugby? Is Casement is above the allocated budget, then Ulsters (& the IFA’s) must have their budget increased also.

More need to get a new board in, than give more money to the incumbent spoofers.

You're both correct, but SII' s suggestion has to be biggest priority Al. UR is a f#cking rotten onion, the more layers you peel back....

Turnips have a game next Friday and likely want him to be training for that. Infu rank the provinces higher than u20s in terms of priority.

Picked up a knock against France apparently, so be interesting to see if he is sent back next week. Remember Stockdale being with Ulster rather than the 20s during the 6N also

Ireland 23-22 Italy.

Ireland lots of errors and missed tackles got out of jail in Cork.

Quite right Neill. But for an either brilliant or lucky steal in the eighty oddth minute, the Italians would (and should) have won.

Not really. Why would anyone big want to come and play us?

Leinster play Munster at the Aviva as they mostly fill it - and easily beat the RDS capacity.
RDS wasn't full a couple of months back when we played in D4.

Who agrees who touring international teams play? I'm not talking about Crusaders Vs Munster- different thing.
Maoris or SA select would fill Ravenhill.

Bryn Ward is having a smashing tournament, I really like the look of him - nuggety build and a cracking carrier, and a real grafter. Hopes playing well too. Interesting that Sheehan has been dropped the last 2 games, his lineout throwing has let him down, interested to see how Walker does
..one more thing
