For most of the half, I was ready to sy that Connacht were looking the less inept of the two, but now, happy to say that the lads are doin' good. Shanners has made a couple of important tackles. My worry is that the backs are looking good as individuals but I don't see many patterns. Connacht more organised but our defence is holding up well.

Maybe DV s influence?MightyRearranger wrote: ↑Sat Nov 04, 2023 9:32 pm Very pleasantly surprised by the performance as a whole. Whisper it quietly, but Shanahan has had a decent first 40 too. He gets much stick in these parts, but in terms of third choice 9's we could do a lot worse.
No idea where McCann's step up in form has come from, but he's gone from looking 'ok' last year to our best player over the first three rounds. Duane who?

Great support from Shanners for the try. Fair play to Hume for putting Sexton in space, but he should've scored himself. Sexton in a nutshell.
In fairness Hume looks like he has his mojo back

Hume is having a screamer. Massive boot, dogged in defence and skilful going forward. Hopefully the James Hume of 2 seasons ago is back.
Re: Connacht V Ulster
Never got the hate for Hume.
He clearly wasn’t right after the nasty groin injury last year.

Hume sized gap is why. Rea needs to come off and get Warwick Stewart and Hopes on

Wee badly need a specialist 2nd row or stilts for the boys in the line out.
