No further action taken by the Swiss Nigels against Ulster re pitchgate according to the Bel Tel.

Any brown envelopes change hands?
Re: Ulster v La Rochelle - Saturday (Sunday?) Ravenhill (RDS?)
On the understanding that the inquest concerned our nominated alternative being unavailable, I can’t see how that was UR’s fault.

Through UR tinted glasses
Having a contingency site which is not available is a joke.....and in most businesses is a sackable offence
In any event the necessary action ( given the weather forecast) should have started the previous weekend.
Maybe decided that losing 700k was sufficient punishnent

Sack the board.
I have my own tv channel, what have you got?

I imagine that both sides realised that it's better if this incident is just swept under the rug rather than have mistakes be made public.

Def. Easy to sink the boot into Ulster but they didn’t have a playable pitch even though a horrific period of weather was predicted 7-10 days in advance. Other organisations took serious precautions. Ulster did next to f all and only when it was too late. Question marks are on Cunningham and Petrie. £700k down just think what that would do for underage rugby.

I seem to recall that several years ago we had similar problems with poor weather when a match could not be played.
At that time it seemed that the problem was due to action being delayed and therefore being too late to reverse the cold weather effects .
If so the failure this time to active a defrost plan at the earliest opportunity is one of not having a robust corporate memory in place.

Any chance the same luke pierce who called the pitch unplayable will feel he owes us something this weekend?

He got some stick on the Rugby Pod for allowing the breakdown to become a free for all last week.

Whatever the rights and wrongs Fanning couldn't miss an easy target in Ulster with an article about the La Rochelle fiasco.
Wonder if he would have been so keen to stick the boot into leinster for something , especially ahead of a big interpro.

I'd say 30% of an Aviva full house would be about £750k. The Sale win was massive.HammerTime wrote: ↑Wed Mar 29, 2023 5:12 pm Def. Still £700k down mind whatever way you look at it.
