My usual cheapish source was calling in to a place in Brandon Parade off Connsbrook Ave in East Belfast. Stocked up well in the summer but it has now closed ( to be redeveloped as apartments) so need new source. The likes of Tesco garage are expensive so any suggestions folks, preferably within a 5 mile radius of Tesco ( K’nagoney). Slainte. At least I have my own free wood supply.

Coal, Slack and Turf are the worst solicitors ever.

Yip. They are, to the legal world, what Corless, Corless and Sweemey are to solid fuel distribution.

Fire is set today, going to light it about 4pm. But I have only one bag of coal left from the summer. Surely someone here knows a good wee cheap solid fuel depot in the greater Belfast area. I Will check out Ballymena tomorrow.

I'm on a diet. I've got a lot of slack in me pants. Going cheap.

I know a guy who told me one bag of coal did him for the entire winter. When he got cold he would throw the bag of coal over his shoulder an run up and down the stairs to warm up.

Someone must have given you a Victorian joke book as an early Christmas present?!

Dunno if you watched Spotlight this week, but there are a few lads from around that neck of the woods that will lend you a few quid if you need it.

You could buy a few bags of coal AND a brand new fridge freezer.

16.12.2022 - Stopped in at LCC Oil, 101 Queen St, Ballymena today and got one 25kg bag of Black Emerald Coal for £18.25 and one 25 kg bag of Black Emerald Doubles for £17.75. That's a lot more than i paid in Brandon Parade back in June - i recall it being less than £10 a bag. No peat/turf available. Will check Bloomfield Fuels prices tomorrow.

Coal prices driven up by Ukraine. £18.25 is an improvement on October, IIRC.
