Hopefully Izzy can get himself back in the reckoning and I would like to see McNabney or mcloughlin get a run out at some stage- I’ve heard Mcloughlin isn’t far away.
Herring is quality but I think Stewart will cement himself as first choice, James Mccormick will be an option when he gets over his injury
I had almost forgotten about Izzy. I hope he's getting to training on time these days. We need to see more of him. McCann would need to improve also to nail down the no 8 birth.

Rather than offer Carter a third deal, we must sign a new lock. Bigger. Badder. Basterderier.

The big issue in the early part of the season is the World Cup. We'll have a depleted squad, and players will need to be rested after the tournament is over.

Loosehead: Warwick, O'Sullivan, Reid. Only Kitshoff is likely to be involved in the World Cup.

Hooker: (Stewart), Andrew, (D. Moore). Herring will be going to the World Cup, and so could Stewart in the reasonably likely event that Kelleher hurts his shoulder. There's talk about Declan Moore going to Connacht, which could leave no senior cover for Andrew unless James McCormick is ready to step up from the academy.

Tighhead: Milasinovich. We need to make a signing here. Even if Toomaga-Allen re-signs, he'll be going to the World Cup, as will O'Toole. It's highly unlikely Marty Moore will be fit for the start of the season. Even after four seasons of Dan's specialist scrum coaching, Milasinovich is still a big pudding. May need to call up Scott Wilson from the academy.

Second Row: O'Connor, (Treadwell), Sheridan, Izuchukwu. Henderson will go to the World Cup if fit, and so might Treadwell. Sheridan has overtaken Izuchukwu in the pecking order, and should get a senior contract in the summer. Expect him to get plenty of game time.

Back Row: my predicted lineup is 6. Ewers, 7. Marcus Rea, 8. Timoney, 20. McCann. Timoney has a chance of going to the World Cup, in which case McCann can play 6 or 8, Sheridan can play 6, and we have Reffell, Matty Rea and Jones in reserve. This is all assuming Vermeulen is leaving. If we do keep him for another year, he might be going to the World Cup, so we can't count on him early on.

Doh, :banghead: I forgot about Warwick. Better scrum option than EOS. Reid won't make it. McCormick to get a chance if he's as rated as Stewart was at the same age. TH is a concern agreed with or without Jeff whose signing makes more and more sense
No idea ref Wilson whose very young. Warwick swapping sides is better than Milo. Fingers crossed for MM but that's a serious injury at his age.
Are we sure Ewers isn't a bolter for England?
Don't see Duane staying. Not sure we need him. Ewers is a beast of a man and 5 years younger.
We'll be cutting our cloth given market financial constraints. If we get to keep Jeff, that'll be a bonus.
Would defo keep Reffell. WTAF we sign Jones/ Rea the lesser and let Reffell go? :duh:

Ref RWC nearly everyone will be in the same boat. We'll have fewer frontliners away, but Leinster 2nds will still be a huge threat regardless.
Maybe Dan won't wave the white flag next season and get his sh#t together.

Ironically, better signings await in the coaching team?

Roddy Grant contract up at end of season?
Bell will be completing season one of three year deal.
Craig Newby here until end 2024.

Dan Soper? Niall Malone?

Jono Gibbes is a free agent.....
