Shan when was the last time give away 4 penalties in their own half at the ruck — the forwards got a touch of ref-Itis — a fear of the whistle which took a yard of them at the breakdown in the second half - which with the shorter turn round lack of preparation time made them look lethargic .

That said not only that but after 1/2 a hour the halfbacks lost the plot as most in this wee province expected and therefore happy to be proved right .

When they reach critical mass i.e. 50 of the feckers on a tour bus, they're a bleedin' nightmare

To be fair, if Joe had read the well intentioned advice proferred here, he would have realised the folly of taking a half fit OH backed up by 2 of Pro14 standard. :😆

Rum.. I was being slightly tongue in cheek about my source being BT74 and not BT6 but there were some within UR that had made their mind up much earlier than many here will realise...

Team for the Russia match

Ireland: Kearney, Conway, Ringrose, Aki, Earls; Sexton, McGrath; Kilcoyne, Scannell, Ryan, Kleyn, Beirne; Ruddock, O'Mahony, Murphy.

Replacements: Cronin, Porter, Furlong, Henderson, Stander, Carty, Carbery, Larmour.

Jordi straight in at 8.
Not quite sure why Sexton is starting??

He needs game time to sharpen up. Has been very ordinary lately without any of his trademark wraparounds or darts. Also needs to practise his kicking badly.

World Rugby has confirmed that three of the four offside penalties given against Ireland to Japan were incorrect.
it wasn't all Gardiner's fault as Garces made two of them as a touch judge.

Weird, Garces would never screw an Irish team

How many of those did they score from?

Now I see Joe is saying that the stadium they will be playing against Russia is going to be even worse than last weekend's game from a heat and humidity perspective. With this in mind I can't see Ireland covering the 53 point spread. We may struggle to cover half of it. Players could be ballixed by half time, even against poor opposition.

While Sexton was saying that the guys said the ball was like a bar of soap against Japan. Now the heat and humidity is a valid concern but as far as I could see Japan didn't struggle a lot with the ball in hand on Saturday and they had a damn lot more of it than we had so I call ballix on this.

Gardiner has no business on a rugby field. The worst refs tend to be from Aus/NZ, though there are exceptions.

However Garces can be unwittingly entertaining so I'd give him a pass.
