That is the big issue.
You want enough players so they aren't over played but too many will lose the mportance of the togetherness and tightness a squad atmosphere generates.
I think no more than 40 and an extra cover per position seems about right.
Meaning an extra 3 front row 2 halfbacks 1 back row 1 second row and one extra outside back.
The importance of players being capable of playing more than one position will help immensely to alleviate squad pressure.
Thinking Itoje Daly Williams Farrell Warbuton Stander Hendy Lawes pom Robshaw sob all offer extra options in this regard giving them an edge in selection.
Not much point in bringing SOB on the tour as he will probably only last 1 match anyway
Janny Loop will be teased to the meedya all tour too

That would be amazing and getting competitive provincial games is vital after the facial last two series serving up dross outside the tests.

Agreed and Robshaw is playing well at the moment who can play across the back row and has been fantastic since he lost the captaincy.
England weren't the same without him and Kruis in the 6 nations.
I know this will be unpopular but Chris Ashton is the form winger in Europe and I would take him on tour.
Especially considering the poor choice of wide men we have compared to New Zealand.
Massive disparity in that area in particular.
Nick Abendanen and Denny Solmona also could be considered for similar reasons.
Need to take a punt or two in that area.

That's very interesting.
I cant really get why people take their time to let you know they don't give a feck about something as if it actually has any relevance.
Why the f do you feel the need to let us know?
Just dont post anything.
Just to let you all know I don't give a feck about the British and Irish cup right now.
Or bog snorkelers in the Orkney Islands for that matter.
We get it and don't mind that you don't care about the Lions.
Its quite fine.
No one will lose any sleep over it.

Ah all the haters will jump on Warrens bandwagon if the tour goes well. Given how repetitive the rugby calendar is, the lions offer some respite.
Climb up onto the top of your house and start screaming: 'stand up for the Ulstermen, stand.......'

Spoken like a true BRexiteer Jizzbag, what makes you think you are entitled to tell people what they can and cannot post ya fascist bast'ard yee.
I'm here to tell you that the only thing I care about the Lions tour is that I trust NZ will humiliate them, the composition of the Lions team amuses me though hence the comment.
Someone and it may have been you, said Robshaw is playing well. Now I have to say I would rather have a rusty nail hammered through my eye than watch the PRL, but who in frig's name is he playing well against? He has spent the last 3/4 months playing for Quins in the PRL, The Warren Gatland & Parker Pen, you'd probably do alright in that yourself FFFS.
NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.
