The fact is the Government ( civil service ) do a sort of disaster planning and based on the assessment of various risks and stocks to meet those risks as advised by the medical profession — my information the advice was masks were in most cases either not necessary or considered to be ineffective .

Given the scale of the problem faced the fact is that most medical services in Europe have faced shortages.

And regardless of which party was forming the “government “ or purchasing departments would have faced the same situation with same failures .

But those who have been so brainwashed by BBC / News / media will never be happy until you have someone to blame —

Globalization is not and never has been a Government policy — it is the product of public desire for anything provided its cheap — that means manufacturing moves to where there is a source of adequate cheap labour .

The UK labour force is not cheap and the manufacturing methods post 60 s were outdated .

British products were priced off the shelves

The Government are hiding behind stories of ‘Medical Advice’ or ‘Scientists Advice’

Isn’t it a fact the Government have been warned many many times by Senior Health Officials that the NHS needed 24000 more nurses? That was before the pandemic.
Wasn’t it the Government ignored repeated warnings regarding the lack of ventilators in UK Hospitals, but preferred to gamble with people’s lives and save some money? Before the pandemic.
Wasn’t it the same Government which promised to be testing 100000 per day by the end of April.

The Tories don’t give a tinkers about the NHS. They’d much prefer a private health service and the above facts prove it. They’ve undermined the NHS for years and hidden behind false promises and lies to placate the sheep. What was the figure on Boris’s Brexit Bus which he promised would be spent on the NHS?

Only sheep follow the Government lies on the BBC. Only sheep think the Government haven’t been anything but a shower of lying dumbasfeckpigshagger twats for years. They are given advice by civil servants and scientists, but the Government gambled on saving money at the risk of its citizens and they’ve clearly lost the bet. Civil servants and scientists didn’t make that call and only a moron would believe they did. It wasn’t the Civil Service or Scientists who voted against pay rises for Doctors and Nurses. It was the Tories including most of the current cabinet.
If they’d employed the necessary staff, if they’d paid for the necessary equipment and by ‘necessary’ I’m referring to necessary in normal circumstances, not in the run up to or during a global pandemic, then the UK wouldn’t be facing the unenviable position of topping the league table for CoVid deaths in a developed country.

I don’t believe it would have all been Smarties and Champagne Fountains if Labour were making up the Government, but the NHS and care for the elderly would have been in a much better shape than they are now.

18500 Covid tests carried out in UK on Tuesday 21st APRIL. The UK’s testing capacity is approximately 46000 per day.

Hancock told the House of Commons “We are ramping up our testing capacity and our capacity for contact tracing in a matter of weeks,” ...That statement was made yesterday!

Hancock has begun to emphasise that the formula of “test, trace and isolate” would be key to exiting the lockdown and suppressing new outbreaks. So three months in he recognises that testing is a key element to controlling the spread and he’s warming to the idea of trace and isolate, which Germany has been doing since the pandemic started.
Positive proof of the Government’s lack of action compounding their failed health service cut backs policy has cost lives.

There was no Scientist or Senior Medic who told them not to ‘Test, Trace and Isolate’..that was a penny pinching Government decision and they still don’t have the necessary structures in place to do what should have started two months ago (at least), because they lack the skills to organise the structures and they lack the brains and desire to recognise what is needed. The penny seems to finally be dropping and they’ll only now start to follow the lead of Countries like Germany along with the WHO advice, but they are months too late and they have cost thousands of lives and thousands more will die in the UK because of This Government. It seems that reality is just too harsh for many to believe. They need to feel protected by their Government and know that Lizzie’s boys would never be so stupid or cruel.
FFS They aren’t even testing ICU nurses after outbreaks in their ICU... that’s mind boggling stupidity.
It’s small wonder why Doctors and Nurses are dying.

Now they are starting to show their true colours. Their 1922 committee have had meetings about ending the Lock Down in May because of the damage it’s doing to Businesses... i.e. the money their mates and themselves are making. The Media are trotting out spokespeople from the hospitality industry, crying about not making a buck and wanting an end to Lock Down.

The noises about ending the Lock Down are now becoming a clamour even though the UK’s most senior medic, Prof Chris Whitty, has said social distancing measures will need to be maintained until such times as a vaccine is produced . He also said it was unlikely a vaccine would be produced in this calendar year.
So it remains to be seen if the money grabbing greedy fecktards have their way and their Government chums end Lock Down before a vaccine is produced in sufficient numbers to protect the average Joe and not just Michael Gove and his immediate family. Or they do the right thing and protect the lives of those who really matter.

I have little doubt the Money Men will win the day and the UK Government will excuse their actions by pointing to other European countries and Merca and say ‘But sure they’ve lifted restrictions’... which we all know means ‘ But sure they’re making money again’

Capacity is 46k of which they are actually doing 23k. That is less than 23%; a definite fail when I was at school. The claim that they are following the Science is a downright lie; I did not come up the Farset in a bubble. Keep up the good work Tender.

There's still a shortage of PPE in our hospitals.
In ICU situations masks have to fit properly in order to work properly.
In the RBHSC all staff have in the past been fit tested for masks and their sizes etc recorded.
The problem is now there aren't any of that type of mask available - no stocks were ever built up.
Now the staff are having to wear an inferior type of mask which in some cases doesn't fit properly and slips down their faces. Some people were told by the person supposedly doing the fitting that in that situation they should just push it back up again forgetting that once in the ICU environment you should not touch your mask.
If this goes on then staff refuse to work in certain situations if the proper PPE is not available.

This is correct. Not all staff have been able to pass the fit test for the masks that are currently available.

If anyone thinks the government is doing a good job, have a look at South Korea.

The Tory's have committed genocide through lack of planning or incompetence, probably both.

Your socialist claptrap is so -- and narrow minded and ill inform its painful -- The Money men are bound to make money regardless of lockdown the world wide shortage of resources will push the cost of borrowing up.

I made the statement that the average person is but 3 months from poverty no job= no money = no taxes=
poverty. poverty= stress . People are living on savings -- No output equals no profit equals no sales = No taxes == Governments are then forced to borrow. Governments don't have savings -- and labour sold the Gold reserves years ago
The need to access TAXES forces all governments to seek an end to Lockdown. Help their Business friends total cr-p

Lifting lockdown is an attempt to get back to normality -- freedom of movement and socialising -- internalisation is the road to madness .

Personally I consider death rates are possible a reflection of the age profiles of the countries rather than based on action by governments and infection spread to reflect the control that exists within the social life of countries.

eg German has few people over 75 has population that seldom socialises during the week - Up early and early to bed and has an ability to accept regulation fairly easily. The same goes for South Korea .

When comparing government performance allowance must be made for the age profile and type of society the actions are being imposed upon.

Thank heavens we are not in the land of the free and home of the brave. Donald, at the Whitehouse Coronavirus press briefing yesterday, asked one of the task force doctors if they could find some way of applying light and heat to fight the virus. He then asked could you inject disinfectant to help fight it. Feck sake, you might as well try drinking bleach. No wait, that stuff will put you clean round the bend!

He's quare crack mind

There's a bit of politicisation 'round here too with Michelle and Arlene trying their best to subtly tie their flegs to the Coronavirus fight. The Assembly is back to what is does best - nathin - and Jim Allister managing to sound like the voice of reason at times

I like to be a nice guy so I have really, really tried to give Donald the benefit of any sliver of doubt: misquoted, biased media, out of context etc etc. I've never got close to succeeding, but this is just the far end of bizarre. How can anyone possibly think him a fit person to occupy any office, never mind the oval one?

The only topic the Beeb mentioned with respect to the local lot at lunchtime was reopening of cemeteries. If they would stick to that and let everyone else get on with the living. My well placed source (or sauce as we used to say when there was actual rugby to talk about) in the local NHS is adamant that most decisions are being driven by what the media will say about the politicians. How will we look? How will my party look? How will I look? I guess the same is true across the water as well.

Don't get this about cemetery's, they're dead for feck sake. It seems to be Nolan and his gopher Allisters fixation at the minute. His show has always been for numbskulls but it's being particularly inflammatory at the minute.

So Rum is telling us morons it’s all Labour’s fault for getting rid of the Gold...

He’s also saying us ageing UK party animals are more likely to die of CoVid 19 because we don’t accept discipline.

Rum thinks the deaths have got nothing to do with the Tory Government totally ignoring a 600 page pandemic report which they reviewed only last year as revealed yesterday. A report which told them to stock pile PPE and have contracted supply chains put in place for PPE and other medical equipment.

FFS Rum give it up and seek help. You clearly aren’t coping well with ‘Internalisation’ and could do with some professional Mental Health assistant, or at the very least a hug.
You can’t seriously believe the UK is some paragon of freedom and civil liberties populated by old bohemian ravers who love their Queen and her Government.

There isn’t a medical professional or anyone capable of critical thought who believes the Government know what they are doing, or have either a plan, or the brains to put a plan into action. The Government spout lies everyday to cover up their failings and to shore up their image. Their policies and lack of actions have caused tens of thousands of lives and are continuing to do so. Why ignore the FACT the UK is on track to have the highest percentage of CoVid 19 deaths of any developed country outside Merca? Why make pathetic excuses about the ageing population?

We’re nearing the end of April and only now are the Government waking up and taking this seriously. I don’t think they’ll start to magically remedy the situation, because they will always be playing catch-up. The penny seems to have dropped they cannot lie their way out of this and the majority of the population won’t forgive and forget the thousands of unnecessary deaths and the Government’s willingness to risk the lives of Health Service Heroes just to save the economy. The problem remains the UK Government haven’t got the necessary brains to steer the ship. We have a cabinet of weakling pigshaggers who are lead by a dangerous buffoon which still see CoVid19 as a temporary set back on the road to Brexit. Brexit is still where it’s at for Boris’s Bloodsuckers.

In the meantime Rum, try to relax and not obsess about life, internalisation or freedom. Ultimately it’s all meaningless, so try to enjoy it.
