Re: English Premiership 2022/23
A lot of wasps players redundant. I hope they all get sorted but I'd be surprised if Tom Willis doesn't get a provincial contract offered his direction.

Re: English Premiership 2022/23
Hypothetical but hear me out. Jack Willis has played 4 times for England, his last appearance versus The Barbarians was an uncapped match in June 2022. His last appearance in a capped match was versus Italy in February 2021. Current World Rugby stand down period is 3 years for a person to make an international switch, is he 20 months into that cycle or does the Barbarians game count?

Re: English Premiership 2022/23
Games v the likes of the Barbarians are non-cap games as they aren't a country's 1st XV / 2nd representative XV etc and deemed an invitational side.UlsterNo9 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 17, 2022 10:44 pmHypothetical but hear me out. Re: English Premiership 2022/23
Thanks Neill, question still stands, do non capped games count in the stand down period? It doesn't mention capped games in the bit of info I could find on World Rugby website. If Jack Willis was 20 months into that cycle and had desire to play for Ireland a two year contract would potentially get him interested. Appreciate theres the like or loath these rulings aspect, which has been debated to death.Neill_M wrote: ↑Mon Oct 17, 2022 11:12 pmGames v the likes of the Barbarians are non-cap games as they aren't a country's 1st XV / 2nd representative XV etc and deemed an invitational side.UlsterNo9 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 17, 2022 10:44 pmHypothetical but hear me out. To the best of my understanding, non capped games DON'T count for the stand down period (open to correction).UlsterNo9 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 18, 2022 12:26 amThanks Neill, question still stands, do non capped games count in the stand down period? Re: English Premiership 2022/23
I did read that the RFU were giving Worcester & Wasps players who would be in England contention for now and towards RWC 2023, the option to play outside England until the RWC and still be eligible for international selection.
