Biggest thing is getting Burns and Cooney to gel, everything else will be built from that.

Definitely this. Lots of action with little penetration last Saturday. Hope Addison is fit as he looked the most likely to make something happen
You need to stretch defences more, so that not only will a gap appear, but you are able to attack it in a structured way; not just an individual squeezing through and hoping someone is on his shoulder for the hail Mary offload.
I have my own tv channel, what have you got?

Spot on Sprattie, the heartbeat of every team, expecting guys to hit it off on the first occasion they play together is ..............ok, I'll be nice ... optimistic.therealspratt wrote:Biggest thing is getting Burns and Cooney to gel, everything else will be built from that.
Same goes for the back three, and for that matter, the back row where Marcell, probably realistically so, was the least impressive of them, not that he was poor of course. I thought Reidy very good and Timoney excellent.

I'd guess either the Big Book of Daves or maybe your TV channel.

The question is now, who do you drop for Jordi or does he need to earn the right to start?

Save Marcell for the AI’s when Slab is away.

I'd say Nordi came here under the condition he was a starter.Dave wrote:The question is now, who do you drop for Jordi or does he need to earn the right to start?

I don't think he needed that condition there is no doubt he will be a starter. In the interest of keeping the squad competitive there may be an argument to say it would not be fair to drop a player (initially) from a backrow that played well. Someone will give way eventually as he is a superior player to all, apart from Marcell (fully fit).damianmcr wrote:I'd say Nordi came here under the condition he was a starter.Dave wrote:The question is now, who do you drop for Jordi or does he need to earn the right to start?

Coetzee, Jordi, Timoney has a better look to it to me than Coetzee, Reidy, Jordi. Then I'm not Reidy's biggest fan.
The former also at least has one academy product in it, even if he isn't Ulster originally.

Agreed. It has a good look to it. Reidy is a decent all rounder without really excelling in a particular aspect of backrow play. Although he runs very good support lines. That pick up from McCloskey's offload to his ankle was sublime.therealspratt wrote:Coetzee, Jordi, Timoney has a better look to it to me than Coetzee, Reidy, Jordi. Then I'm not Reidy's biggest fan.

Remember you need at least one for the bench, either Reidy or Timoney for a bit of speed when opposition fat boys start to suck air.
