No, but the last two years have seen serious freefall, both from the team pov and individual performances. At what stage of his contract extension negotiations was there evidence we were serious contenders or likely to win anything? For me, the Stormers semi was the alarm bell showing he had never sorted the mental fragility that has become endemic, leading to the free fall we see now and serious player confidence issues. All coaches have a lifespan, and the first 2- 3 years should have been DFs legacy which has now been seriously tarnished- for everyone's sake including his own he needs to step down.

Dan did a super job when he came in, it must be remembered. We looked like we were building a formidible side. I remember some lovely continuity play in the forwards in the early days, quick pop passes to runners and offloads. And he had our backline on fire with some serious young talent.

But things went stale, big time, from that half time team talk in Dublin in November 2022. I feel he should have walked after the Connacht defeat but I guess he has a family to look after so fair enough. So the management should have taken that decision out of his hands.

All the best Dan.
He had a great start, but I started to worry when he came out with a statement saying Billy Burns was the smartest player he ever coached.

It was strange I thought. I think he backed the wrong horse there.

Funny that the report is worded that he is stepping down rather than being sacked - exactly as a narcissist would want it worded as

Soper the only one I’d keep on
Get Roddy Grant out the door as soon as, as bad as McFarland and the players hate him every bit as much

Team of Soper, Faloon and A N Other would do me well. Doak is still kicking about if him or Soper could cover forwards / defence with Faloon taking his preference of either Forwards or defence.

With McFarland going you could see Daryl Maxwell stepping up to help with scrum
