I don’t know the circumstances behind RL’s apparent departure but players have been known to leave of their own accord.

All being well, and with a bit of luck, Marty should be there or thereabouts come the start of the season. Buckley at Connacht was out for 8 months with his ACL (albeit I’m not sure he’s having the same impact these days).
that's also a fair point, forgot he was a Samoan intl now. There's a lot to be said to keep someone around who is both technically excellent and brings a bit of personality
I agree entirely. He’s done as much as anyone to get us going again this season. And who benefits if we’re effectively forced to take Gareth over Jeff?

They can also be low-balled to such an extent that they value themselves and their time more than the club.

Ridiculous decision to let Lyttle go and keep Moxham. Lyttle is one of our most deadly attackers.
WTAF?

It’s that bad that spending your life shovelling sh!te seems more appealing than re-signing for Ulster.

Where there’s muck there’s brass.

A shame if that’s it for the boy.

Always liked him since he scored one of his first tries with that outrageous dive in the corner for the cameras and managed to make it look necessary.

His 2 tries against Edinburgh a couple of seasons ago will live long in the memory. He demonstrated a finishing quality probably on second to baloucoune in the squad. Never was disappointed to see him on the team sheet.

He was also once about a yard short of scoring a length of the pitch job at Glasgow.

Always good to watch.

I recall reading sometime ago that Ulster had something like £7m of a price cap on wages … excuse me I am incorrect but recall reading that was the amount..

If so I think it puts us above most of not all English clubs. I personally think it could be spent better but curious how little some of our average players might be earning.

I accept it a short term wage but just noted that £60-£80k is quoted as the average non international player at Ulster with £30k for others hanging around the fringes of every getting a match and academy players at under £10k.

The one exception is Vermullan who is reportedly on £600k a year a large percentage of which is paid for by a third party (not irfu) so is effectively part own by AnOther

The problem is that we have too many players below average.

What's Carter on, I wonder?
