Surprised he got a 2 year extension. He's potentially 8th choice backrower next season - I'd expect Vermeulen, timoney, Marcus, jordi, yer man from sarries, Jones, and mccann to be ahead if him. He has about 70 ulster caps I think but has never convinced me.

Wonder what Dan's plan is for him? Maybe use him as an emergency squad lock and backrower

I wondered about that too. I’ve been a fan of Marcus this year and would have liked to see him rewarded with a longer contract.
Maybe they’re dangling a carrot in front of him. Keep up the good work and development and we will offer you a better contract next year.
