Short memories - I agree BUT carbon copy of the jump on Payne that cost us five seasons, so it is hard to be over sympathetic.
From the rolling glens of Antrim through the hills of Donegal we will stand and shout for Ulster as we win both scrum and maul from the lovely lakes of Fermanagh tae the shores of ould Lough Gall we will scream and shout for Ulster as we beat them one and all!

Of course it doesn’t deflect from the shambles we have seen far too often this season, such as at Connacht, Leinster, Zebre etc BUT fair’s fair, well done to Ulster today.
And before people start saying that La Rochelle did the typical french thing today then we should look at the wins against the likes of Toulouse, Stade and Clermont in the same vein.
Also, in a season of far too many mystifying selections and chopping and changing, the call to give some young guns a game today ahead of experienced options was brave and you have to hope these guys will benefit hugely from the confidence this may bring.
Still doesn’t mean i don’t expect an abject capitulation at Wasps next weekend though as we are lost outside of Ravers/Kingspan.

My successful streak predicting Ulster results through December and January continues.
Rory Best was superb today as were so many more. You have to hand it to Les Kiss. He clearly lulled the French into thinking that this would be a walk in the park for them but it wasn't.

Credit where it is due today to Kiss and the entire team.

Pack really fronted up. Timoney has the heart of a lion. Rea and Reidy really put themselves about. Cave was excellent again. Ludik, boy can he tackle. Cube and Charlie both very good.

That was a pleasant surprise!
Please for the love of God Les, please play a back line with players in their proper positions next week.

Just for the minute can i say.... That was class, atmosphere was electric, the lads gave all they had. Ludis tackle, Charlie's off load, Cooneys class, dare i mention Cave at 13, Rea and Timoney take a bow lads, lost my voice.
Basically that was what everyone wanted a fecking performance you can be proud of.

Re: Stade Ferrero Rocher - Home
The Yellow Card was the game changer harsh but not as bad as Payne’s red which ruined a game .
Barnes did his best for them before and after the penalty difference is surprising given that for the first 20 minutes at least La Rochelle came in from the side at every ruck .
How Stockdale scored the second try defies logic tight to the side line with 3 men to beat .
A nice unexpected win and even more unexpected after the first 20 minutes - little ball and nervous back line failing to make the gain line with any ball it had and the Ulster set pieces under pressure.
Yes a surprise all round coming back from 0 - 6 to win 3 trys to 1

Agreed DaveDave wrote:Pack really fronted up. Timoney has the heart of a lion. Rea and Reidy really put themselves about. Cave was excellent again. Ludik, boy can he tackle. Cube and Charlie both very good.
I also thought that the turning point was not the yellow card, but the clash of heads which resulted with Gilroy going off and Cave on.
It brought a better balance to the back line, with as you say, Lulu's tackling being absolutely immense and inspirational
Also thought Cooney getting them totally wound up was hilarious
Barnes was his usual....!
The mistake with his decision to award a scrum for an Ulster knock on, which had clearly been tapped back by a LR player, ultimately led to their try
